Perfectly Fitted - by Sioux Jenneys

Hello everyone! I decided to share an ATC with you all today:)

1. I started with a piece of white card that had been cut a little smaller than ATC size as I knew I wanted to mount it onto black card in the end.

...this is important as the ink will resist the water you will put on later.

3. Apply a mask on the eyeglasses and use Distress Ink aged mahogany and peeled paint to ink up the Punk Plaid background and stamp.

4. Remove the mask and before the ink is completely dry use a brush loaded with water and paint over the entire background avoiding the eyeglass parts as you will be painting them later.

...I love how the colours mix in the middle there ;)

5. Reapply the eyeglass mask and using Archival crimson ink up the ticket from Ephemera 1 #48 plate and stamp around the two sides and the top.

6. Stamp the words " Perfectly Fitted", also from the Ephemera 1 #48 plate at the bottom in Archival coffee and remove the mask.

7. Colour in the eyeglasses with Distress Ink weathered wood using it as a watercolour.

Then distress the edges and age with the same weathered wood.

...I'm loving the weathered wood to provide a subtle colour that is not too blue...not too black....not too grey!! LOL

8. Stamp one of the butler images from Men's plate 001 #035 in Distress Ink aged mahogany and the other in peeled paint onto some Kraft coloured card.

9. Using a scalpel knife cut around the lens area of the eyeglasses and fix the two butler images behind.

10. Add the fabulous screw top brads to each corner and mount onto black card to finish.

I'll be seeing you again soon!

It's A Giveaway!!!

Good day to you all... it is time for another arty giveaway!! I have made a cute little ATC using some inks and stamps and a bit of embellishing for goodly measures. The base of the ATC is one of the fab ATC cards from Ranger. I glued this onto some mountboard as I wanted the whole ATC to be really sturdy as I knew I would end up bashing it and adding layers to it. The base card was coloured with Bundled Sage Distress Ink and I overstamped with an Artistic Stamper Script Stamp, using Bundled Sage again, I love this look of colour on colour, it really if effective to do a "faded" background. Next, I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink to blend around the edges. I cut another piece of mountboard for the sentiment... colouring this the same as the base and then adding a Tim Holtz mini sentiment in Ranger Black Archival ink. Over this I stamped the fly-away birds in Bundled Sage and then coated the whole piece with a generous layer of Rock Candy Cracklepaint.

I used another Tim Holtz Collection mini to add the fly-away birds using black ink - I just stamped these a couple of times so they are in perspective as they fly off the ATC. I used some garden jute to tie around the ATC, popping an Idea-ology birdy charm onto the knot of the jute and then adding Washers and Brads to the corners of the ATC... finally, I popped the crackled sentiment on some 3D foam and then assembled the ATC.

If you would like to own this ATC, please leave a comment here... all comments will be entered into Mr Random.Org and a number will be chosen at random on Saturday 15th January - I will also either email you or leave you a blog comment if you are the winner :O)) All of the lovely goodies used on this ATC are readily available from THE ARTISTIC STAMPER! Thanks for looking! Have a FAB day! TTFN

Spooky Pumpkins...

Morning Peeps! Tis me again, back with another ATC to giveaway... this time it is a Hallowe'en themed one... using those luverly Tim Holtz Hallowe'en Mini's... I have to say, this is my first foray into the whole Hallowe'en thing this year and I am a total convert... I can see this skelington being used for things other than spooky too!

So, the base of the ATC was made with a piece of the Retro Grunge paper stack, coloured with Wild Honey and edged with Vintage Photo Distress Inks. The spider web was stamped with Brushed Corduroy and the bats and barbed wire with black StaZon. I stamped the skelington onto Grungepaper and cut him out and then once he was in place on the ATC, I added Glossy Accents to make him pop... however! The pics for some reason, are showing him to have a whiteish tinge to him... not sure why cos the GA is all dried... but I quite like it... it looks more... erm... lived in ROFL I have some beaded fringing in my stash which is white and pearly... so I made up a Mini Mister of Spiced Marmalade Re-Inker, mixed with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls and water, soaked the fringe with this mix and then dried it. I added some wire to the top of the ATC to make it into a hangy thing.. well, you know me and my hangy things... love 'em ;o))

If you would like to own this ATC, pretty please leave me a comment here and I will pop all the comments into the Random.org thingy and a winner, chosen at random, will be announced next Saturday, 30th October '10. Oooh, and while I am on about all things winning... have you seen our monthly challenge? The theme this month, set by moi, is Layers... and you can win £15 worth of Artistic Stamper stamps and KlingOn to mount them onto if you join in... that is open until October 31st... so you still have a week to play :O)) All the deets for that are HERE. Hope you have a brill weekend and thanks for looking... TTFN

Free as a Bird - by Sioux Jenneys

Hello everyone! It's my turn (Sioux) again and I'm here to share an ATC :)

1. Created the background on watercolour paper by swooshing Distress Ink Tattered Rose and Scattered Straw

2. Stamped the Gibson Girl 4 in Adirondack Archival Jet Black and coloured with Distress Inks Worn Lipstick for the lips, Tattered Rose for the face and Rusty Hinge for the hair 'cos she looks like a red head to me! LOL. Cut and Dry Nibs make this really easy as you can pick out the finest detail.
3. Stamped the bird cage from the Free as a Bird plate and embossed in gold and the sentiment in Adirondack Archival Jet Black
4. The corner detail was, in effect, a free stamp!! It was on one of my Artistic Stamper plates that obviously had been left behind as part of the manufacturing process...not saying yours will have one for sure but you never know!! Just inked up the area I needed :)

5. Tattered the edges and inked up with Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy to finish off.

6. Could not stop myself and did what I do a lot with ATC's and made it into a card
....adding a T!m corner scroll (Ooh! I do love that stamp!) in Distress Ink Pumice Stone (second stamping) and sentiment in Adirondack Archival Coffee

See you soon!

Less Steam More Punk! by Nicky Cresswell

Hello lovely people, nice of you to hop on by.
So as you may be able to guess from the title the whole Steampunk wave has hit the crafting world and left me for dust..
Don't get me wrong the style is kinda quirky and usually that's totally me but i just can't get my head around it at all!  The best i could manage was this one ickle ATC...
And thats mainly coz i had the fab Inspiration Jar stamps to work with.
I stamped the coggy jar onto the base, Layered up a ferro coated grungeboard key with a couple of wing charms, a timmy gear and 3 photo anchors with a brad in the centre to create the propeller. I then used some green stazon to stamp the plain jar onto some acetate, and i mounted this over the base to encapsulate the piece, held on by faux screw snaps.
So after many further failed attempts.. you could say i ran out of stream!! lol
All that was left was the Punk!
Some nice pinky paper, a couple of fab background stamps, {i used dogtooth and punk plaid} Some grungeboard skulls coated in Black and White Enamel Accents, a few stamped and cut out Stars with a bit of bling to finish them off and Jobs a good'en!
*****
So is there a style you just can't master!!
Why not leave me a comment..
I'll pick 3 random winners, each winning one of the above ATC's.
I'll announce the winners next time i post which will be on the 7th Sept so plenty of time to enter.
*****
Well thats all from me today,
Have a creative weekend and i'll see you all again soon x

Bottle Caps & Number Plates...

...Morning peeps... so... did you go to Stamperama yesterday? And... if you did... did you come and play at making rosebuds with me? And did you see Jennie doing her stuff demo-ing? And... what did you buy??? I had a fab day yesterday, it was so lovely to meet everyone who came and sat with me for 10mins and made one of the little roseybuds from Grungepaper. As promised... here are a couple more ATC's to be given away... same as before, if you leave me a comment here, I will add your name to the draw and a randomly picked name will win one of the ATC's... so that means I will be doing the randomly picked thing twice :O))

The first ATC explains the title of the post... cos I used Tim's Lost & Found stack to make it - the roses are made using the little 2" square pieces, stamped onto using the medium Flower Power stamp and then curled into roses. I added some of Tim's mini stamps to the background, used some Distress Inks to blend it all together and popped some Idea-ology on for decoration.

The next ATC was made using my fave Retro Grunge stack - the colours in this pack are right up my street and I used an ATC sized piece of paper, popped a generous layer of Rock Candy Cracklepaint over it and once it was dry, added some Rock Candy Stickles to the crackles. I used the 2" square pieces again for the roses... added some fibres and more Idea-ology and there you go... another ATC. So, if you would like to be in with a chance of winning one of the ATC's, please leave me a comment... I will use that Random.org thingy to pick out the winners on Thursday August 19th... and they will be announced here :O)) Thanks for looking... have a goodly day... I am off to lay down... yesterday wore me out... all that yakking that I did! LOL TTFN

Paper Roses... Plus ATC Winner... AND...

...another giveaway... I have to say THANK YOU to everyone who left lovely comments about the last ATC that was up for grabs... I decided to make another couple of ATC's for give aways... so as before, please leave me a comment here if you would like one of these new ones. Oohhh, and I very nearly forgot (I didn't really... just joking LOL) the winner of the Cogs & Roses ATC was chosen at Random.org by the machiney thing that is in the computer... not very scientific way of chosing, I popped the numbers 1 - 40 in (I had 40 comments) and it chugged, churned and chucked out... number 30... which tallies with NETTY.... so thank you hun and please can you email me your addy and I will post it to you :O))

So these old paper roses are as addictive as the ATC's they are being made for. I can't tell you how much I lurve the Tim Holtz papers... well, I could tell you but I would be here for yonks, extolling the virtues of the patterns, colours, quality etc...see, I am off again *even over here I have no control over my wafflings ROFL* Anyways, the roses were made with the medium sized flower from the Flower Power set (note a pattern of addiction emerging here?) I stamped them onto the ickle 2" square bits of the papers... cut them out, assembled them into roses... and cos this paper is soooo lush, it stays curled! I used the Vintage Shabby stack for this first one... adding some ATC sized paper onto mountboard... using Idea-ology Foliage behind the roses, tying some Jute around the ATC, using the Mini Brads for the corners, using my old date stamp... a couple of Tim stamps in Aged Mahogany and colouring the edges with this... and some Pumice Stone...these DI's were made to go together weren't they? The ticket..erm... is a new one, from the 100th collection.. which should be here by early October... we will keep you posted about that though... erm, my ticket stamp is from the gold signed 100th collection... oh, I mentioned that before did I?? ROFL

This next ATC was made with the Lost & Found Stack, using the same Flower Power stamp, adding on some Jute, stamping with mini Tim Holtz images (that reads funny, not Tim Holtz is mini, the stamps are!!!) I used a Memo Pin under the rose, dangling a Philosophy Tag from it with a Jump Ring... the letters are also from the stack... popped onto mountboard, then inked edges, sanded a bit and then coated with Glossy Accents.

Thanks for looking... if you would like to own either of these ATC's, please just leave me a comment and I will do the Random jobby again and announce the peeps drawn on Sunday 15th...

And if you are coming to Stamperama, I can hand them over to you in person, otherwise, I will post them out to you .. I am doing Make & Takes on Sunday... so if you are there, please do come and say hi... it would be lovely to meet you! `:O)) have a great day... TTFN
