Hanging out! by Nicky Cresswell

Hay Stampers..
Here I am with my last piece of the month
I have to say that the Tissue Tape product focus this month has been a bit challenging for me as I had not really used it b4, So I think I got as much inspiration as you guys did with all the amazing things the team came up with this month. So a big round of applause to my fellow teamies xx
Right onto my project:
I opted for a simple little wall hanging as I had a piece of corrugated card just sat on my desk wishing to be used up!
I covered a piece of 4x6 card in the ticket tissue tape from the journeyman set.
Next I stamped the large fab family scene from the 'family values' set onto a piece of acetate with stazon ink
{I used a mix of brown & black}
I placed the acetate image over the tissue taped card, but the image just faded away, so I gave the tissue a coat of picket fence distress stainand that really made the image pop but the cool thing is your still able to see the tissue images which makes for a fab muted background.
Then it was just a case of assembling it all onto the corrugated card, Adding some hanging holes and a couple of Timmy die cut flourishes.
And your done.
I hope you liked my last project of the month
Until next time:

Love Icon! by Nicky Cresswell

Hello my lovelies, Minxy here for my second visit of the month
Today i'm sharing a little altered wooden icon..
And as I went a bit mad with the photo's you can make one too if you like!
***
For this piece you will obviously need 1 blank Wooden icon
Then gather together the following:
accoutrements and baubles={WHICH ARE STILL ON SALE BTWmetal photo cornerscotton twine, white gloss card,

And the following Artistic Stamper stamps:

Before you start painting, notch out 2 holes where you're buttons will sit to allow the backs to sit in and make them a little more secure when gluing.
Then spray with an antique linen and heirloom gold mini mister mix and heat set using a heat gun straight away to get the speckled effect.
Use coffee archival to randomly stamp some calligraphy script, doing some places lighter than others by stamping off first. {stamping off is when you ink your stamp and stamp a piece of scrap paper before stamping your real piece so you get a lighter more faded image}
Stamp the window from the Architecture 1 plate in black archival in areas where there is little or no script

Stamp the 'The Kiss' statue onto white gloss card in coffee archival ink, and cut out.
I coated with matt accents as I didn't like the gloss look, {but you don't have too} when it was dry I straightened it out as it had curled a bit and this caused the accents to crack a little but that actually added to the statues look which was a happy accident!
I stuck the image straight in the middle of the icon and stamped the phrase straight below it in black archival ink.

The treatment of the outside was very much the same as the inside only I didn't use any pearl mist because I wanted it to stay a little lighter.
I used one of the fancy sconces from the architecture 1 plate to add an almost hinge like effect before gluing the accouterments fanciful buttons on, I also added a piece of cotten twine round each button so the doors are easier to open.

I used silver-plated metal photo corners to give the front a nice finish.
flattening one side with pliers so it sat flush {ish lol}
You can also see in the pic I used some ball chain to hang the piece by cutting out a small groove for the chain to sit in and gluing in place. {I used E600}
I added some mini hooks to the bottom to make it useful, so I could hang earrings and chains on the piece, but for display purposes i've added some twine & baubles for show.

And there you have it
I hope you've enjoyed todays art
I'll see you again soon but till then..

Bright Idea! by Nicky Cresswell

Hello to all you creative peeps out there, I'm back again, this time with a little wall hanging.
It's made from cardboard, I like to do my bit with the old recycling you know!
I started by cutting a square of card from an old box and ripping the top layer off in places, I then gave it a coat or 2 of paint.
I cut a section from the top of the card and glued old christmas lights that i'd coloured with permanent markers in top and bottom.
I stamped the cog inspiration light bulb onto some mica in brown stazon ink first, I then used the clear bulb and over stamped in black stazon to define the shape.
I used the mini scrabble tiles from the Scrabble and Tags plate to write bright & to make them pop I added a bit of colour using a yellow permanent marker and then glossy accented over the top.
***
To fill behind the fairy lights I stamped the cogs background onto parchment in brown ink, and then dry embossed around the cogs making the parchment turn white.
I randomly stamped the small cogs cluster all over the piece in vintage photo distress ink and heat embossed with distress embossing powder.
***
As I had already used stamped mini scrabble tiles I thought it would be cool to incorporate actual old scrabble tiles into the piece, I sunk them into the cardboard by gently slicing all the way round each one then just pushed them in place, that way they didn't go all the way through the card.
The piece was looking distinctly flat so to 'build it up' in keeping with this months challenge I cut out a bunch of cogs using my Vagabond and the gadget gears die {again using up more recycled cardboard}.
I distress embossed them all and then layered them using foam tape, and finished the middles by gluing old screws and bolts that I coloured again with permanent markers, I also coloured a little on the cogs to make it look like oil and grease.
***
Well thats your lot from me today, I hope you enjoyed my project and it inspires you to dig out some cardboard and get creating!
Until then Stay Inky

'Create Blooming Art!' Wall Hanging by Lucy Edmondson

Hello, me again!

The Artistic Stamper has these very sturdy little frames in stock, which are ideal for wall hangings. They have a shallow indent in the middle which is perfect for either tiny dominoes or Stampbord pieces. I thought it would be fun to combine it with these very versatile Floral Blooms stamps, which are brand new but which I think I will be reaching for many times!

INGREDIENTS

Floral Blooms Stamp set
Collage Frame 10 x 10 cm
Black Archival Ink
Crafty Notions Mica Spray
Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence
White Inkssentials Pen
Tiny Dominoes
Florist Wire or Thin Ribbon
Permanent Marker Pens
Button
Idea-ology Flower Embellishment
Big Bite or Dremmel
Brilliance Ink Pads or Similar
Strong adhesive tape

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Paint the frame with the Crackle Paint, and when dry spray with Crafty Notions Sprays.

2. Arrange the dominoes so they form a square that fits the centre of the frame, turn over and attach together with the red line tape but don't remove the backing just yet.

3. Turn the dominoes over and sponge with a suitable ink that dries on glossy surfaces, such as Brilliance, and heat set.

4. Stamp the flowers and leaves as shown, overlapping the dominoes. Use the white pen in the centre of the tiny flowers and add some colour with the permanent pens. Add a button to the centre of the largest flower. Remove the backing from the tape and stick in place.

5. Stamp the tiny flowers around the edge of the frame, adding some white pen and permanent marker pen. Stamp the words 'Create Blooming Art' on the bottom edge.

6. Use a Big Bite (thank you very much to my friend Jack for the loan!) to make two hanging holes in the top of the frame and thread with florist wire. To finish, add a metal flower taken from a Primark necklace, which was a wonderful idea of Minxy's!

Thank you for looking!
