For my last project, I thought I would do some of what I like doing best ... Art Journaling ... I used the stamps to help create the background and border on this page.
The stamps I used were:
Baroque Background A6
Birds of a feather A6
I started by spritzing the page with water, then adding Ranger Colour wash in oranges and greens. spritz with a bit more water to blend them together.Find Colour wash here
Next add some Distress Inks and blend with a baby wipe
Then using some stencils add some circles, the large ones I did with Colour wash, the small with adirondack dabber in Snow CapI then highlighted areas of the page with a dabber in Pool.
I used some archival ink and the baroque background stamp to create a border down the side of the page Archival ink can be found here
I added the birdcage image next using one of the phrase stamps as the chain by which it hangs, and I stamped the bird house next, and used the other phrase to create the post on which it stands.
Last but not least I added a computer generated phrase " A little bird told me" inked it, painted it & distressed the edges with Distress ink ...
I can't write what it is the little bird told me yet,as it's a big secret, can't even tell my husband yet lol, But it's an exciting secret to do with someone who I know and really it's their secret but let's just say I had a friend who ....?!!
Hope you like this last project of mine, Thanks to Jennie & Hels for inviting me to play here... if you did like it please feel free to pop over and visit my blog over at www.anneliesebates.co.uk

No.2 of my guest designer spots ...By Anneliese Bates
Well I'm back again, This time I've been using the stamps as a background for this shrine. The stamps I used this time were :
Baroque Background
Birds of a feather
Insects and Butterflies No. 1 # 017
Botanical Plate 1 # 038
I started off by using Viva Terra texture paste to cover the wood. you can find that Here
Then I stamped into the paste using the rubber stamps, remember to spritz the stamps with water before use, this acts as a release agent.
I let this dry & then I painted it all over with Viva Precious metal colour in Pearl Blue Here
This I heat gunned dry.
Once it was dry, I began to add other metallic paint colours such as golds, bronzes, coppers, reds and greens. I would paint it on and then rub it off again with a piece of kitchen towel, this ensured that you could still see the blue underneath, which in turn helps highlight the stamped images.
Once all the paint is dry you can rub on some stickles with your finger, I used Platinum and distress stickles Picket Fence
Emboss in Black the birdcage image on to some pearlised cardstock. Then cut out. This will become the body of the figure on the central panel.
Spritz some Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearl mist on to some Trimmings, this will glue on to the bottom of the birdcage.
Create a person to go in the central panel using any 'finds' and collage bits you might have handy.
Add some twigs and a bird image on to one of the folding panels
And some collaged words on to the remaining panel
And there you have it
Hope you liked this project, I'll see you soon for my final installment :D x
