August's Creative Challenge- Anything Goes!

Hello!
Welcome to the Creative Team blog for the month of August. As it is traditionally the time of holidays, and everyone gets a little busy doing other things, the theme this month is  ANYTHING GOES

We are  looking forward to seeing all your artwork and stamped projects that you submit in relation to this theme. To join in with this challenge (and you can join in as many times as you want), is simple; all we would like you to do is, make a piece of artwork, making sure that you include the theme and some rubber stamping. Pop back here to link up using the Inklinkz at the bottom of this post, so that we can see what you've made and then, leave us a comment to let us know you have joined in with the challenge. As always, there will be candy for one randomly picked entrant - the winner will receive £15 worth of The Artistic Stamper stamps of your choice. And don't forget....if you use Artistic Stamper stamps on your entry, you will entered into the draw, twice!!!! Here is an ATC made on Kraft card and with an Acetate cover laying over the top to create an almost 3D effect  the stamps used are Debbie Cottons Early Bird Resort and Simple Swirls.  See my blog for full details and I look forward to seeing what you all come up with.

For this challenge I decided to make a hanging. I used Cogs from the Tick Tock stamp set, and the background stamps; Cogs ,Lace and Dots. I also added embellishments from the mixed bags found at the shop. I hope you feel inspired to join in and I look forward to seeing all your entries.

I've created Tea cup coasters for this Anything Goes challenge. I've used MDF base. Stamps are from The Artistic Stamper Botanical plate 1 and 2.
For more detailed information please hop over to my blog - Neon Diary.

For this challenge this piece developed itself as always wasn't sure where I was going with it.
I tore the edges of and really liked the impression of corroded metal.
Neil Walkers heart stamp to compliment it.
All coloured with metallic acrylic paints.

Why not join the team this month with our anything goes challenge.
If you are interested in how I made this Pop over to my
blog to read the how to.

We hope that you will join in this month's challenge and look forward to seeing your creations. Don't forget to add a comment when you have posted your entry.

Hi everyone I hope you are all going to play along with us
this month with "summer is on its way"

My contribution is a piece that uses Neil Walker's fantasy plate & boarder

I am looking forward to seeing your amazing creations.
Full details of how I created this can be found on

Hello Everyone, When I saw we have 'Summer' theme for this month challenge...first I thought about sun..in India we have very hot summer days, but its a holiday time as well. So, in this journal page I incorporated sun, bicycle, bird, insects.
I used Artistic Stamper Debbie Cotton designed Bud's Fresh flowers stamp,
For the background I've used Mask, Cosmic Shimmer texture paste, Distress Paints

Hi All, here is my contribution for this months challenge. Whenever I think of summer I think of blue skies and nice bright oranges,  so for this canvas I based it on blue skies

I used The Artistic Stamper Stencils, flourish, splats and daisy borders, the stamps are the Butterfly plate and borders (yes they are there on the flower). Tim Holtz distress stain sprays in Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio, the Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber distress inks.  Tim Holtz honeycomb and tattered floral die grunge paste and Trinkets from The Artistic Stamper.
Full details on how I made it are on my blog

We hope that you will join in this month's challenge and look forward to seeing your creations. Don't forget to add a comment when you have posted your entry.
I will be back in a couple of days with the winner of last month's Challenge.

I  made tag for this inspiration post. I've used Birds of Feather and Free as a Bird stamps from The Artistic Stamper.

Alison (butterfly)

I've created a pair of ATCs marking the passing of the old year and the coming of the new one.
The backgrounds are stamped with the fabulous number and word collage stamps from the Family Values set.  I used various Distress Ink colours and clear embossed them, and added Vintage Photo Distress embossing powder around the edges for a textured finish.

Then Katy Leitch's Dates stamps were perfect for my tiny tags, complete with rusty bells to ring in the New Year.  And some ChitChat stickers share a couple of thoughts about what's past and what's to come.  You can see more details over at Words and Pictures.

Jennie

I have created a page for a calendar using Graphic 45's Time to Flourish papers ( January) and Katy Leitch's Numerical Plate  stamps to make the 2015, and the edge of the paper.

I almost always hit the neutrals for Christmas.  I used some tea & coffee-stained tags to create this festive trio, using stamps from the Victorian Christmas #2 and Christmas #3 plates.  They're all stamped in Archival Ink, and I've done some gentle Distress inking around the edges just to warm up them up and draw the eye into the centre.  A few tiny wooden stars and some baby pinecones finish the look.  Hop over to Words and Pictures if you'd like to see some close-ups.

For this challenge I used the following products.
Distress inks in vintage photo, scattered straw & black soot.
The stamps used are from The Artistic Stamper Christmas range
Brushos was used to colour a piece of card which the tag was then cut out of,  this was then put through  a Tim Holtz snowflake embossing folder. distress embossing pad, gold embossing powder. For the wooden snowflake I used Deco art's Media range
The Father Christmas and Merry Christmas were stamped onto card coloured with the distress inks
then torn out and swiped with a bit of guiding wax

We hope that you will join in this month's challenge and look forward to seeing your creations. Don't forget to add a comment when you have posted your entry.

I created a pendant, using Girl With Flower In Hair, colouring with Distress Inks, then adding an inked piece of paper doily & the stamped word from Journaling Mini Words. I cut my art to 2 ins square, inserted it in a Ranger Memory Frame, then finished off with some lace & Idea-ology Ball Chain.

Titbelsoeur

I made a tag, stamping Blossoms Small size from Debbie Cotton and Journaling Words on to used tea bags, then colouring another blossoms

After that, I added stuff on my tag : a sardine can, piece of a map, pinecone, card, film roll, etc etc..

This LO is for my friend, it's made with her daughter's photo. There are only stamps, piece of paper and hand drawn letters))) And of course watercolour for colouring the stamps.

Shilpa

I've created a mixed media canvas with colours of  Autumn. I've used birds stamps from 'Birds of Feather' collection. Sentiment and leaves are from Katy Leitch designed Autumn leaves collection. For more details visit my blog here.

I have created a card using an alcohol ink background, and a mixture of die cutting. I used Tim Holtz Mini Leaves dies using sticky back foil, and then running them through an embossing folder. Stamps used are Katy Leitch's Leaves and Dates stamps.

April Challenge~ Embossing and Texture

Hi to all of our blog readers

A BIG thank you to everyone who joined in March's challenge, We loved all of the entries and  I will be announcing the winner in a few days time.
This month, we have as guest designer the talented and creative
Dot Allan from Australia joining us at The Artistic Stamper, with the first of her projects tomorrow . Don't forget to pop back to check it out!

Our new challenge for April is Embossing and Texture. You can interpret this anyway you like :)
We are  looking forward to seeing all your fabulous artwork and stamped projects that you submit in relation to this theme. To join in with this challenge (and you can join in as many times as you want), is simple; all we would like you to do is, make a piece of artwork, making sure that you include the theme and some rubberstamping. Pop back here to link up using the Froggy at the bottom of this post, so that we can see what you've made and then, leave us a comment to let us know you have joined in with the challenge. As always, there will be candy for one randomly picked entrant - the winner will receive £15 worth of The Artistic Stamper stamps of your choice. And don't forget....if you use Artistic Stamper stamps on your entry, you will entered into the draw, twice!!!!

To get you in the mood  here are some gorgeous creations from some of the Creative team
I decided to make a tag for the challenge using some of the wonderful new Crafters Workshop Stencils.
I used the Insects and Butterflies Plate and also had great fun playing with some of my Dylusions Sprays.

Well, I couldn't resist a challenge theme like this... it's rare for me not to use embossing and/or texture!
I love the "now you see it, now you don't" of clear embossing, and on this tag I've partnered it with some clear texture paste too... as well as lots of Distress Inks and Stains, and stencilling - using both an Artistic Stamper mask and other stencils.
As well as one of the new Tim Holtz Classics sets, I've been playing with lots of words - fabulous script background from Calligraphy Mat #4, and large words from the Journalling Words #2 plate.

I have created an altered book niche. I used Texture paste through a stencil, and added Dies cuts from Tim Holtz which I stamped with the cogs background., and embossed with some light blue embossing powder.  I finished it off with PaperArtsy Fresco finish paints, and highlighted some of the cogs with Viva Décor. Before putting it all together, I added some watch pieces in the little bottles from Creative Expressions.

We hope you will join in this month's challenge and look forward to seeing you creations. Don't forget to add a comment when you have posted your entry.

Finally, just a quickie reminder of you haven't spotted that we are looking for more Creative Team members! You find out how to enter here. The callout ends tomorrow night.
Have a very creative month

January 2014 Challenge-Love is in the Air!

Hi to all of our blog readers, and a very Happy New Year to you!

We do have to say a BIG thank you to everyone who joined in December's challenge, and I will be announcing the winner later in the month. During December we had Dawn Heald join us as our guest designer, and we wish to say thank you to her for her gorgeous makes.

Our new challenge for January is LOVE IS IN THE AIR!
The whole team are really looking forward to seeing all your fabulous artwork and stamped projects that you submit in relation to this theme.

To get you in the mood  here are some gorgeous makes from Alison, Alison and Tit!

Alison :
Happy New Year to you all!
I took the challenge title literally, & created a card with heart-shaped balloons. I used The Artistic Stamper Roses Are Red Plate, & stamped the heart outlines & word 'LOVE' onto a Gelli Plate print background. I cut them out, glued them to a white card, then doodled the strings, & stamped the phrase.

Titbelsoeur :
Wishing all of you a very happy new year, I am sending lots of love to you, for every single day of every month of this year 2014 !
To make this card, I have first gessoed it and when wet, sprayed Barn Door Distress ink on a heart mask, and Crushed Olive ink here and there. Then I  white paint with my finger on the Artistic Stamper Large Dot Mask and let the whole dry.
After that, I stamped dates on this background with Archival ink and ended it with slightly covering the whole with white paint added with a card and a toothbrush.
A heart cut in a "Mon Chéri" chocolate paper, a cupcake paper mold and "lots of love" from the Greetings plate stamped on a book page, and here is my card !

Alison (butterfly):
Like Alison (craftytrog!), I took this pretty literally - I didn't mean to, but that's what happened!  I wanted to try out using beeswax for the first time, and loved it - even without a melting pot.

I layered up the background with strips of book pages and handmade paper, gesso and Distress Stains.  Then I used the Artistic Stamper Large Sequin Waste mask and the Large Random Dots background stamp to create my bubbles floating up through the air.  I stamped some tissue paper using one of the Calligraphic masks, cut it with the Movers and Shapers little heart, and dipped the hearts in beeswax that I'd melted in a little metal tart tray with my heat tool.

I also used the beeswax to "glue" down the trees and create texture and sheen on the "earth".  This was really meant to be a journal page, but once the twigs were on there, it was never going to work to shut it in a journal, so I ended up mounting it on a canvas!

We hope you will join in this month's challenge and look forward to seeing you creations. Don't forget to add a comment when you have posted your entry.
Have a very creative month

During November, we also had the pleasure of having the very talented Christine Dark join us as our Guest Designer and on behalf of the team, Jennie and I would like to say a big thank you to Chris for all her beautiful work that she shared everyone.

This month, we have another very talented guest joining us at The Artistic Stamper, Dawn Heald and you can see the first of Dawn's posts tomorrow.

We also have some sad news to share... Zuzu and Sioux have both decided to leave the creative team and this will be their final month with us. I know they will be sadly missed by everyone but we wish them both well and the very best for the future. From all of us...a very BIG thank you for all their hard work since they joined the team and for all their wonderful creations.

Our new challenge for December is ANYTHING GOES. The whole team are really looking forward to seeing all your fabulous artwork and stamped projects that you submit in relation to this theme. If you do need any inspiration, then you don't need to look any further than our wonderful team's makes!!!

ZUZU
I am mad about the Yuletide season, so when offered an "anything goes" theme for December, then I cant resist keeping on with my seasonal crafting.
I have made this tag with Santa and some sleigh bells.

Supplies used:
Alterations snowflake rosette die
tinsel twine (winter)
Stickles (crystal)

Artistic stamper stamps used:

ASTRID
Even though the theme is "anything goes" I decided to make a last minute Christmas gift idea piece, a bookmark and holder.

I used various Christmas Stamps, Mini Christmas 1, Mini Christmas 2 and Christmas Greetings 2. The bookmark slides into the little holder and could be a little gift to go along with a book on crafting, or indeed any book of course, just for that little hand-made touch.

JENNIE
I am teaching a couple of classes on Christmas tags, and this is one of the ones that we are making in the class. Well it is December , after all!
I used the baubles stamps to stamp and cut out baubles from Honeycomb Paper, and added it to a metal foiled tag using Sticky back foil, coloured with Distress Paint.

I wanted to make something with "12 Days of Christmas" in mind.
It seems team members just can't get enough of Christmas ;)

I made some paper bags out of ordinary brown parcel wrap, kraft coloured paper and to lighten the tones some in white and cream. I went for a combo of sizes for the different little treats I will be putting inside for my sweetheart ;)

I decorated the bags using a variety of stamps from Mini Christmas 1SnowflakesScrabble TilesKaty FoxMusic BrackgroundGrungy Greetings 1Our House A6Icicles BorderCrowning GloryJournaling Mini words and Journaling words 2 (cut apart letters you require and assemble together for the word you want....very liberating ;)) and T!m Holtz.

We hope you will join in with this month's challenge and please, don't forget to add a comment when you post your entry.

Hope you all have a happy and very creative month.
See you soon...
