Owl Tag by Gemma

I am in love again with all thing crafty and tag related, so I have one to share with you all today that fits in with our challenge theme of Birds and Bees. You can join in the challenge here on the blog or over on the facebook page.

What I did 😀

I started by placing blobs of Slate, Caramel, and gesso onto my mat. I picked up the paint with a small card and scrapped it onto the tag. sometimes I only picked up one colour and other times all three. I kept layering until I was pleased with the result.

I then stamped over the top with one of my all-time favorite stamps Chicken Wire and Hazelnut coloured ink. When I stamped this I wanted it to be 'bitty' I like the areas of missing ink and different colour intensity.

Then I spread a thin layer of Purple Rain over my mat and used that to stamp the smallest bee stamp from the set repeatedly over the tag. I stamped quite a lot of bees over the tag I wanted it to be busy but not uniform.

While that was drying I painted some chipboard from my stash scarlet and then stamped over the top with the Honeycomb background stamp and slate paint. I spread the slate onto my mat as I had done with the bees but this time after stamping in Slate I mixed the paint with small amounts of gesso and restamped, I did this a couple of times, before drying and gluing the chipboard to my tag.

To finish I just added some flowers, beads and the metal owl from my stash before gluing in place I stamped onto the flowers with the honeycomb stamp and more paint.

Hello Everyone,

Artistic stamper has beautiful Butterflies stamp sets, you can check them all here.

I've created journal page and used Butterflies set #2

here are step by step procedure:
  • Stamp text with artistic stamper background stamp and black archival ink onto the tissue paper.
  • Adhere that tissue to the page with gel medium.
  • Apply think coat of white gesso.
  • Apply acrylic colours of your choice, I used my fingers to spread the colour.
  • Use circle stencil and with baby wipe remove the color.
  • Stamp Chicken wire background stamp with black archival ink, randomly on the surface.
  • On another white card stock, stamp butterflies with Forget me not archival ink. Doodle on them with black pen, adhere them on page.
  • Add the sentiment and page is ready.
here are close up views

Hope you liked my today's colourful journal page.

Family values...

Hello everyone, this is Titbelsoeur here today.

I have made, just for you... and for my great pleasure too ! a terrific background with household items and stamps from the Artistic Stamper.

I have started with an ugly scrapbook page, you know these are the ones you bought at the very beginning, they were cheap... but today you find them as ugly as anything !

I have started with gessoeing here and there through a piece of plasterboard banneer and a stencil with numbers, among other stuff, to add some texture. Then I sprayed blue, red, orange, yellow, green... inks (Distress, Dylusion...) and let them mix together and drip on the whole page to enhance the textured parts.

After that, I whipped out my stamps...

now let's have a look at the entire background :

And at the end, I have added some papers from my stash and stamped :

A special canvas by Titbelsoeur

Salut les copines !
This is a very special canvas I want to share with you today, for 2 reasons : first it is fully made with recycled stuff, and second, this is going to be a long story... let's make it short ! One night, not well sleeping, I thought about the scrapbooking day that has no counterpart in mixed-media... so why not organizing a mixed-media day ? then I got in touch with 4 friends of mine to ask them if they wanted to share this odd journey with me, and they said YES ! So the 5 of us are currently leading a French forum named "Patouille et Récup" sponsored by The Artistic Stamper, each one of us presenting and tutoring her creation during 4 weeks (a single week-end was too short), and here is mine :

an old bulb, colored with alcohol inks..

 some tea bags...

the structure is made from a rice box, the lady's dress with junk envelopes, buttons, cogs, beads, a perfume sample... and even a "hello George" coffee pad, that makes a very nice hat !

And, of course, a lot of Artistic Stamper stamps :
