Ornate Ladies by Alison Hall

Hello Stampers! I've a little hanging piece to share with you today. I have used the fabulousDistress Stains which are currently on special offer on The Artistic Stamper website HERE.

For the base, I die cut an Ornate Frame out of mountboard, then coloured it with Broken China & Peeled Paint Distress Stains. I stamped the Calligraphic Mat 1 with Black Archival Ink, then swiped over the top with Picket Fence Distress Stain. It looks very white when it's wet, but once it's dry, you can see the colours & stamping again. To finish the background, I stamped some flourishes around the edge, using Broken China Distress Ink.

I stamped two images from the Garden Plate 1 onto glossy card, cut them out & coloured them with Distress Ink. I edged them with black ink, then attached them to the base, adding some lace.

I punched two holes at the top & one at the bottom, using a cropadile, added silver eyelets, a piece of Ideaology Link Chain, & an Ideaology Pearl Bauble, attached with a Jump Ring.

Thanks for looking,
Alison xx

Sweet Dreams by Emma Williams

Hello everyone!

It's Emma here, and I'm back with my first post of November and this time I've chosen to make a twisted easel card, featuring another of those gorgeous Mabel Lucie Attwell stamps, together with an inky background made using the fab Distress Stains which are currently on offer this month over at The Artistic Stamper.
So here's how I made it..

I stamped the Mabel Lucie Attwell image onto mount board, coloured it in and inked the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I then applied a generous amount of Versamark all over the image, covered with UTEE and heated it until it becomes molten and glossy.

To make the card base, I took a square pre-scored card, scored diagonally from corner to corner, across the front of the card blank and folded to give my basic easel shape card. Next, I inked up the Dots Background stamp with Versamark, stamped onto white card and embossed with clear embossing powder. Next, I got inky with the Distress Stains and randomly applied, Wild Honey, Weathered Wood and Antique Linen, all over the embossed piece of card ~ where you've previously embossed with the clear embossing powder, this will act as a resist and those little dots will just pop out.
I matted this onto black card and attached to the diagonal fold on the card blank. Next, using the same colours of Distress Stains as before, I once again, randomly applied them all over another piece of white card card and then stamped this background with the "splat" from the Swirls, Dots and Splats stamp and the Ink Blot Background. Attach this piece of card to the base of the card blank, trimming off the excess.
Using Tim Holtz's Tattered Florals Alterations die, I made a handmade 3D flower, coloured with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and spritzed with Turquoise Perfect Pearls Mists, I then attached this to the upright section of my card base, together with my enameled Mabel Lucie Attwell artwork and some seam binding.
I printed out "Time For Bed", adhered the words to a piece of card and attached it to the front of my card using a Tim Holtz Memo Pin. I finally made up two rosettes from some paper in my crafty stash, using Tim's Mini Rosette Strip Die and added these to the base of the card, together with the "Sweet Dreams" sentiment which I printed out on the computer.
So that's about it and I really hope you like my card!

I'll be back later in the month with another project. Thank you for taking the time to come and look at my work and for leaving all your lovely comments.
See you soon and happy creating!

A Little Distressed by Tina Barnett

Hi Gang!

It's Tina here. I have made a card using the wonderful Mabel Lucie Attwell stamp "Natures little helper". How cute!!!

I started with an 8 inch by 8 inch card and used some beautiful swirl stamps by The Artistic Stamper . I used Tim Holtz distress inks to stamp them.

I then went over the card with .............. and I just have to say fabulous .... Distress ink dabbers It gave a beautiful background effect.

I used a darker ink dabber around the edge of the card. Where I had stamped the sentiment, which is an Artistic stamper stamp I then over stamped it used the darker ink dabber.

The main Mabel Lucie Attwell stamp has been coloured using Tim Holtz distress inks and edged in the same dark ink dabber.

I embossed some Coredinations card stock and went over that with the distress ink dabbers.

I then finished off with some ribbon from my stash.

Hope you like the results.

See you soon xx Tina xx

SUNSET RAINBOWS XL TAG

Hi all, Kat here,
I'm here today to show my first project of the month,
it's an XL tag (my new fave surface to work on) at the moment anyway, LOL
the tag measures 10.5cm x 21.5cm,
that's 1 third bigger than the 8 by 16cm tags fab ha!

the focus this month for the design team is the amazing distress stains
they are on offer in the shop for this month only.

Here's my Tag,

I started of by die cutting the word journey along the side

I then took a variety of the distress stains
in a rainbow of colours
& added bands of colour to the tag as shown,

I then took some background stamps & archival inks

& stamped randomly as shown in the picture below,
& stamped the word nature near the top,

next I made a dimensional pile of leaves with
& some textured card, that was sanded back
& the edges were inked with Distress inks

all glued with silicone glue & added then to the tag,

I then added the squirrel snugly into the pile of leaves,
I printed out the the little poem
that I made up myself (one of my better ones) LOL

& went scruffily around the words with a zig pen,
I distressed the edge of the tag with Tim's paper distresser
& added fibers through the hole at the top.

& there you have it!

hope you like my XL tag, the first of many, me thinks (lol)
I'll be back on the 15th with project number 2
until then wrap up, keep warm,
& carry on crafting (LOL)
KAT x.

Art tag by Sioux Jenneys

It's the fourth day of a new month....it must be my turn again to share something with you and this time I'm here to share a tag :)

1. I started by using my two Distress Stains...dried marigold and broken china to colour a tag and with the remains of the ink that ended up on the craft sheet I tapped the tag into the colours trying to get the dried marigold onto the blue section and the broken china onto the marigold section :)

2. Then it was a matter of some stamping and masking to create the main group...

...first the crown from crowning glory heat embossed in gold...

... then the Ball bottle stamped in Archival coffee...

...then the wings from crowning glory stamped in Archival aquamarine.

3. I left all these masks on and stamped the ruler from ephemera #1 down one side in Distress Ink weathered wood....then the ink blots from the A5 size swirls, splats and dots in Distress spiced marmalade

4. I then removed the masks for the wings and stamped the words premiere and deuxieme from the dance plate in Archival black....and also the word Art from creative art thoughts and air mail from bird collage elements.

5. Some white cotton ribbon (you can get similar ones here) was colourised with the same two Distress Stains that are this months special offer with 20% off :)......how vibrant these are on material! Then stapled to the tag.

6. A screw top brad was added to hold a piece of wire with a trinket pin dangling from it.

7. The edges were tattered and inked with Distress Ink antique linen and the bottle coloured with Distress peeled paint using a cut and dry nib.

Thanks for looking. See you again soon!
xoxo Sioux

Guest Artist- A Vintage Tag

Hello All

The lovely ladies here at
The Artistic Stampers Creative Blog asked me
to to be a guest Artist for  the month of November....thank you all
so much, I am really looking forward to it!

So I thought I would share with you a tag I created using
Tim Holtz Distress inks in Vintage Photo and Antique Linen
I inked up two tags.....one to use as the main tag and one to create a pocket.

After inking up the main tag I pasted some torn book pages and stuck them down with Claudine Hellmuths Matte Medium.
I then inked the pen nibs from the Tim Holtz Artful Artifacts stamp set onto the spare tag and cut out to make a pocket, this was then sewn into place with the sewing machine

I then stamped the sentiment from Stuff to say set by Tim Holtz
and selected a a hand from the Little labels set

I added some of my own stash of watch faces and a selection of Idea-ology
 and some corners
The small hand was covered with a fragment tile and I added some torn ribbon to the tag

I then added some more stitches to the side of the tag.

I really had a lot of fun creating this tag
I look forward to returning very soon
stay inky
