Hi everyone, and welcome to our new monthly challenge for April.
To begin with, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your wonderful entries in our Tag Challenge during March. We had so many wonderful creative pieces from you all and it's been such a pleasure looking through each and every one of them. We will be announcing one very lucky winner in the next few days, so make sure you check back to see if it's you!!
During March, we had the pleasure of having the lovely and very talented Jenny Marples join us as our Guest Designer and on behalf of the team, Jennie and I would like to say a big thank you to Jenny, for all her hard work and for the stunning creations that she made and shared with us.
The new challenge for April is all about TEXTURE and the whole team are all looking forward to seeing your interpretation of our theme and all your wonderful and the varied creations that you submit. To join in with this challenge (and you can enter any challenge as many times as you want), is simple; all we would like you to do is, make a piece of artwork, making sure that you include the theme and some rubberstamping. Pop back here to link up using the Froggy at the bottom of this post, so that we can see what you've made and then, leave us a comment to let us know you have joined in with the challenge. As always, there will be candy for one randomly picked entrant - the winner will receive £15 worth of The Artistic Stamper stamps of your choice plus the Kling On to mount them onto. And don't forget....if you use Artistic Stamper stamps on your entry, you will entered into the draw, twice!!!!
If you do need just a little bit of inspiration, then just take a look below our Creative Team's fabulous creations for this month's challenge.
Astrid decided to create a shaped card out of water colour paper.
While it was still in the die she coloured it with Wild Honey, Bundled Sage and a bit of Pine Needles Distress Ink. She then stamped the rose from the Botanical 3 set in the corner, and then stamped just the flower head again on paper and coloured that with Distress markers.
Astrid then created some texture along one side of the card with the help of a Tim Holtz embossing folder. She also added some cheese cloth to create further texture underneath my sentiment which was also from the Botanical 3 set. Finally, she embellished with a Tim Holtz word band, some vintage seam binding ribbon and a decorative brad.
Sioux started by doing a swooshing background of Distress Inks and then used a Tim Holtz Sizzix die to cut the letters...corugated card, sticky backed canvas and cork were some of the items used for texture.
Stamps used included ruler from Sewing A5 plate , Life is a Circle from Journaling words 1 ,Architecture plate 1, thread top image from Sewing A5 plate, Journaling mini words 1
Jennie
Jennie made this box using Distress paints, the Tattered Floral alterations die, Crafter's Workshop templates, and the meltpot. Stamps used included the mini polka dot background. The texture was made by dipping the flowers into the meltpot, and stamping into them.

ReplyDeleteI made my piece at the start of the month. It was just a "play" session for me to practice with textures. I am really pleased with the way it has turned out too.
