This month, we have the lovely Georgina Sweetenham joining us here on the blog and I'm sure you will all love Georgina's beautiful card that she will be sharing with us in her first post tomorrow.
Before I introduce this month's new challenge, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your wonderful entries in our Texture Challenge during April. We had so many wonderful creative pieces from you all and it's been such a pleasure seeing them. We will be announcing one very lucky winner in the next few days, so make sure you check back to see if it's you!!
The new challenge for May is all about WORDS and the whole team are all looking forward to seeing all the wonderful and varied creations that you submit. To join in with this challenge (and you can join in as many times as you want), is simple; all we would like you to do is, make a piece of artwork, making sure that you include the theme and some rubberstamping. Pop back here to link up using the Froggy at the bottom of this post, so that we can see what you've made and then, leave us a comment to let us know you have joined in with the challenge. As always, there will be candy for one randomly picked entrant - the winner will receive £15 worth of The Artistic Stamper stamps of your choice plus the Kling On to mount them onto. And don't forget....if you use Artistic Stamper stamps on your entry, you will entered into the draw, twice!!!!
If you do need any inspiration, then look no further than our Creative Team's stunning creations for this month's challenge.
Titbelsoeur :
I have made this tiny notebook out of a toilet paper roll and a tea bag as a bookmark. A double page from a school notebook, folded and cut is enough to make its pages :
Stamps I used :
cover : cycle and "travel" from The Open Road, "a journey..." quote from Travelling words,
bookmark : "make a wish..." from Words and Sayings on one side, "yesterday is history..." from Journaling Words 3 on the other side
Last page : "seize the moment" from Journaling Words 3, stamps from Katy Fox's carte postale and Neil Walker's Franswar
Alison (craftytrog)
I made a tag, using Neil Walker's Fantasy Background & Fantasy Border, & Kiki. I chose to use the word 'Courage' from Journaling Words 4.
I used one of the small papier-mâché hanging boards as the basis for my piece. I shabbied it up with some Distress Paints, sanded it, and distressed with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. I stamped the mini Calligraphic Mat (19) in Coffee Archival across it. The large 'Inspire, Create' is from the Journalling Words II plate, stamped onto kraft paper, inked, spritzed and torn for an aged look. I also painted and inked some decorative wood pieces, used some Distress Paint on an Idea-ology charm, and added some twiggy hearts. The whole thing is roped together with twine and rusty wire (and quite a lot of cursing).
For my challenge piece, I made a card using Katy Fox's Encyclopedia Botanica Stamp Set. First, I stamped the "words" onto cream card. I then stamped the flowers over the words and coloured them with Distress Marker Pens. I blended the card with Old Paper DI and aged the edges before matting it onto layers of kraft and black card. I wrapped twine around the side of my image and attached a tag, which I stamped the butterfly onto from the stamp set, again coloured with Distress Marker Pens. I added a key charm from my stash and attached the completed image to a corrugated piece of card, which I used as my card blank.
We hope you will join in with this month's challenge and we're really looking forward to seeing your interpretation of our theme and all your amazing creations and artwork. Please, don't forget to add a comment when you post your entry.
I hope you all have a happy and very creative month.
See you soon...
Emma x
