October' s Creative Challenge - Travel

Hello, and welcome to October's challenge,  and a GUEST Designer, and NEW stamps and Stencils!
Thank you for joining in last month. We had so many fabulous ideas, and creations.

This month the theme is Travel and can be interpreted any way you like, as long as it has rubber stamps on it.

To join in with this challenge (we are limiting the challenge entries to 3 per person), is simple; all we would like you to do is, make a piece of artwork, making sure that you include the theme and some rubber stamping. Pop back here to link up using the Inklinkz at the bottom of this post, so that we can see what you've made and then, leave us a comment to let us know you have joined in with the challenge.
This a challenge just for fun!
In addition, you can enter the same challenge on Facebook just for fun.
To join us on just go to our new Facebook group, and send us a request

Our Guest Designer is Wendy Waldorf. Please welcome her, and watch out for another post later in the month.

I was given an opportunity to be a guest designer at The Artistic Stamper for the month of October. The challenge theme this month is "travel". When I think of travel, my mind immediately goes to the seashore. I always like to bring home a few reminders of my visit to the beach. I altered a vintage playing card box for this project. The colorful background paper was created using tempera paint sticks. The Gibson Girls were colored with pencils and given dimension with the use of foam tape pads. I used seed beads for the fish eyes.

Many thanks to The Artistic Stamper Team for supplying a variety of wonderful stamps for me to work with. I used the following stamp sets for this project:

Swimming fish with waves

Gibson Girls 2

Journaling Words 2

In addition this month Titbelsoeur has designed some Travel stamps that are perfect for those of us who like nostalgia .

This is a door hanger I have made with a piece of cardboard I have distressed and covered with gesso, then turquoise and orange acrylic paint for the background. One step forward I have stamped the big one from Mushrooms © Debs Smith, cut it out and slightly coloured it with soft pastels.

This mushroomy background to give my project a "so 70's" tone !

In the foreground I have cut out the van and "wanderlust" from the very new plate I have designed for The Artistic Stamper and that I am very proud to introduce to you :

First I stamped the word stamp on a white tag, and the car on a gelli print, as well as on a white piece of card. I cut out the gelli print and just the window of the car from the white card, then glued this to the car. I stamped the flowers on another gelli print and cut them out. I used a piece of washi tape as the “road” for the car, then glued the car to the tag. I arranged the flowers around the edges and glued them down when I was happy with the layout. The edges are embossed with gold embossing powder. Finally I found a quote in my stash and glued this on too.

We hope that you will join in this month's challenge, and also join us on Facebook too.
We look forward to seeing your creations. Don't forget to add a comment when you have posted your entry.
Have a Happy Creative Month
Stay safe
