July Challenge - Feeling Hot! Hot! Hot!

Goodly Morning Stampers and welcome to a brand new challenge for July. Many thanks for all your wonderful entries for June, the winner of this challenge will be announced on Sunday July 3rd. The new challenge this month is USE HOT COLOURS. To join in with the challenge is simple; make a piece of artwork, include the theme and some rubberstamping, pop back here to link up using the Froggy at the bottom of this post and leave us a comment to let us know you have joined in. As ever there will be candy for one randomly picked entrant - £15 worth of The Artistic Stamper stamps of your choice plus the Kling On to mount them onto. Moving on, last month we were very lucky to have the very talented Neil Walker as our Guest Designer, he pulled out all the stops and made some amazing pieces for the team. This month our Guest Designer is Gillian Simson and we are all really excited to see the marvellous creations that she will bring to this blog.

The team has been busy making samples for the challenge for you to see:

Alison got inky and used Wild Honey, Fired Brick and Vintage Photo Distress Inks along with the Calligraphic Mat #13, the Flourish Swirls and made a focal image of the Bird Song Complete stamp and finished the card with an Idea-ology Accoutrement and a Prima Flower.

Sioux has made a beautiful colourful card featuring a gorgeous butterfly stamp from the Butterflies and Insects plate. She also combined one of the new Travel Labels with a Calligraphic Mat #13 background, using Distress Inks to stamp and colour in the butterfly.

Minxy has been busy altering an 8" square canvas by using Adirondack Dabbers to colour the base and then overstamping with the Punk Plaid background stamp. She made great use of the Tick Tock butterflies, even overstamping the little butterfly with a Sequin Waste stamp. Minxy made gorgeous flowers using the Tattered Floral die, popping Accoutrements into the centres and adding Twine for the stems... finally she used the Alterations Chip Block to make her words up.

Hels - I got busy with Distress Inks, using my fave combo of Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Fired Brick to make a hot hot hot background base. I used a Dotty Background to make a pattern on the tag, swishing Fired Brick DI onto my craft sheet and then dipping the stamp into it, stamping onto the tag and then drying with a heat gun. I used the Crowns, stamping them in a row using Black Archival Ink and then did a little bit of cutting out using the Tattered Florals die to make a rose out of Kraft Resist which I coloured with Wild Honey and Fired Brick Distress Stains. I added a couple of Tattered Leaves which I coloured with Peeled Paint Stains. The Idea-ology Baubles were attached to Seam Binding that I had dyed with more Stains. I used the Travel Label stamp, masked off the writing in the centre, stamped onto cream card and then added a sentiment from Tim's Stuff to Say set. To finish I added a Corked Vial filled with Alcohol Ink and popped a Pen Nib on for decoration.

Thanks for looking... have a wonderfully inky and stampy month!
