Hi everyone and welcome to The Artistic Stamper Creative Team blog and to our brand new challenge for October!!
Before telling you all about this month's exciting new challenge, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to join in with our Autumn challenge during September. As always it's been an absolute pleasure to look at all your wonderful artwork and creative pieces and Jennie will be announcing one very lucky winner in the next few days, so please make sure you check back to see if it's you!!
During September, we also had the pleasure of having the very talented Sue Carrington join us as our Guest Designer and on behalf of the team, Jennie and I would like to say a big thank you to Sue for all her beautiful work that she shared everyone.
This month, we have another extremely talented guest joining us at The Artistic Stamper, France Papillon. I'm sure you all know and love France's work and will already be really looking forward to seeing her first post on Thursday.
Our new challenge for October is ALTER SOMETHING. The whole team are really looking forward to seeing all your fabulous artwork and stamped projects that you submit in relation to this theme. To join in with this challenge (and you can join in as many times as you want), is simple; all we would like you to do is, make a piece of artwork, making sure that you include the theme and some rubberstamping. Pop back here to link up using the Froggy at the bottom of this post, so that we can see what you've made and then, leave us a comment to let us know you have joined in with the challenge. As always, there will be candy for one randomly picked entrant - the winner will receive £15 worth of The Artistic Stamper stamps of your choice plus the Kling On to mount them onto. And don't forget....if you use Artistic Stamper stamps on your entry, you will entered into the draw, twice!!!!
If you do need any inspiration, then you won't need to look any further than what our team have been making this month, because they have excelled themselves with their altered pieces!!!
I have altered a plain wooden cheese box using tissue paper and some of the Katy Fox botanical stamps. I simply stamped the images on to tissue paper and cut it to size. I glued it in to place and used a bit of sandpaper lightly around the edges to neaten it.
I used some water colour pencils to add some touches of colour on the flowers and some distress stains to add some age around the edges of the tissue paper. the piece of lace is also available from the Artistic stamper. once everything is glued into place and dry, I gave it a coat of sealer to protect it.
Supplies used that are available from the artistic stamper shop:
Katy Fox stamps "encyclopaedia Botanica"
Distress stains. (Vintage photo and antique linen)
This is a mirror that I altered using UTEE, stamps, Wow Embossing moulds and lots of gesso and Dylusions sprays. I actually took inspiration from one of Astrid's posts last month, and also taught a class using this method.
I struggled to decide what exactly to alter and how exactly to alter it!!! LOL
In the end I decided to alter some ceramic tiles and make them into drink coasters ;)
What I used:
some of the new designs from
and
I chose to alter a book. The stamp sets I used were mainly two of the new Katie Fox ones, Botanical Two and Leaves. I also used Chevron Elements and the Calligraphic Mat 12. If you want to know how to make something like this, there is a full step by step on my blog.
We hope you will join in with this month's challenge and please, don't forget to add a comment when you post your entry.
Hope you all have a happy and very creative month.
See you soon...
