Gone Fishin' by Siobhan

So this week I've had great fun playing with Jennie's new stamp collection. I decided on a fishy tag and then layered it up with a clear tag to add some dimension.

I started off colouring a tag using three distress inks (blueprint sketch, salty ocean, peacock feathers) with the brush blenders, I then sprayed a mica spray to add some glitter and some splatters,  then stamped in black archival using the sea background stamp.
On the clear tag I traced using a dotting action the lines of the waves stamp to create the effect of waves splashing with a white pen.

For the fish, I stamped using the new Fish stamp by Tits Belsoeur in archival on some scrap paper I had lying around (tbh I have a huge pile of scrap paper lying around), the paper I used was yupo with alcohol inks on, which helped to add variation to the fish colours. I then trimmed them out and positioned some on the paper and some on the clear tag, once stuck down I doodled with a white pen and some neon sakura gelly rolls. To finish off I tried colouring the string with my mica spray, wasn't the most effective but hey ho.

Photographing was tricky with the acetate, so here are a couple of my other attempts.

Inspiration by Titbelsoeur

Hi this is Titbelsoeur, back with a 15 mn card !
First of all, I have used a piece of plastic wrap to give some texture to a watercolour juice and meet our May creative challenge, then I have stamped Honeycomb Background and the word "Inspiration" from Journaling Words 3. On a notebook page, I have stamped the beautiful door you will find on Architecture 3, teared the page and sticked it to the background paper.

Texture Play by Siobhan

For this card I used the Petal Stencil from The Artistic Stamper, to create texture I smoothed Grunge Paste through the stencil carefully and then removed to let it dry.  Once dry I placed the stencil back on the card and coloured using distress oxides and the fab application brushes that Jennie has.

I then stamped a word "Art" from Journalling set 3 and mounted on a small bit of mirri card before attaching to the card.

This is all I needed to make this textured card.

Hope you all like it.

Thanks

Recycling labels by Titbelsoeur

How to make tags with cloth labels ?
Take a sets of labels :

Split them up, take the book-like printed ones and stamp Gibson girls on them, not much, for a simple vintage look :

On the other labels, just stick paper like a piece of a notebook page or an old map, distress them with Vintage Photo Distress ink or walnut stain, and stamp some vintage stamps on them :

then gather all of them again with the original string, and here it is :

I hope my flag gives you inspiration to participate in our

for 3 chances to win some of these fabulous Artistic Samper stamps !
Thank you so much for stopping by.

It's a Twofer!!!

Lol....in the words of the fabulous Lou Withers...while I was experimenting with my samples for this months texture challenge I made two of similar things, they are actually done differently, but somehow ended up nearly the same. One, the card, is made from a rice paper mop up, and I added the texture by stamping the leaves on tissues and embossing with clear EP, then coloured the behind and then stuck them onto my background...why oh why I went the long route when I could have just stamped them onto the background at first I do not know!!!, the second is with a textured background from some pollyfiller (I had no modelling paste left), then inking it up and then adding the leaves that I had stamped with gold that time, then added a dangly charm, I loved them both, so decided to make a card with one and a little notebook with the other, so, as Louise says...I made a twofer!!!

The Artistic Stamper stamps used;

I look forward to seeing your creations for the "texture" challenge.

May Creative Challenge - Textures

Welcome to our challenge for the month of May.
Thank you to everyone who joined in last month's challenge.
We loved them all :)
This month the theme is Textures  and can be interpreted any way you like, as long as it has rubber stamps on it. To join in with this challenge (we are limiting the challenge entries to 3 per person), is simple; all we would like you to do is, make a piece of artwork, making sure that you include the theme and some rubber stamping. Pop back here to link up using the Inklinkz at the bottom of this post, so that we can see what you've made and then, leave us a comment to let us know you have joined in with the challenge.

As always, there will be candy for one randomly picked entrant - the winner will receive a stamp of their choice from The Artistic Stamper .
In addition, you can enter the same challenge on Facebook! There is no prize on there, it's just for fun!
To join us on just go to our new Facebook group, and send us a request to join..
And don't forget....if you use The Artistic Stamper stamps on your entry, you will entered into the draw, twice!

Jennie
My challenge piece this month is another postcard! I created it using Grungepaste through one of my favourite stencils Small Dots , and added lots of Distress oxide sprays over it. I covered the Grunge paste in PaperArtsy's Black Knight infusions, and spritzed with lots of water to make it run. The flower was created by using Lesley's flower stencil, on textured card, and cutting out the middle of the flower petals, and painting it black. I also added Calligraphy Mat 4 in black Archival ink.

We hope that you will join in this month's challenge, and also join us on Facebook too.
We look forward to seeing your creations. Don't forget to add a comment when you have posted your entry.
Happy Creating
