Butterfly Tag by Siobhan

I decded to have a play with some alcohol inks on Yupo Paper and to have a go at using Tim Holtz's alcohol lift ink pad, I started off with the intention of cutting the butterfly image out, but I loved the effect of it with the splattered background on, so left it as it was, do you find yourself having a plan and having to deviate quite often, but then that's the artistic process for you.

So once I was happy with my background, I used the alcohol lift ink, I stamped this off on some scrap paper, should have done it on a glossy paper to get a better and brighter effect.

You can see the ghost butterfly left behind, I had stamped using the Stamping platform so was able to emboss stamp into the exact same spot, sprinkled wth fine black embossing powder and then heated it very gently as Yupo paper does not like the heat, I still managed to buckle it slightly but decided to go with the flow, I cut it out in a tag shape and added a sentiment and some ribbon.

Hope you like x

PAST AND PRESENT by Jane

Hi Guys, Well I hope you all got spoilt on Valentines Day, I know I did, I always tell Pete..."dont get me flowers, I like champagne", he never disappoints!!
So, the card I made for this months "Heart it" challenge was pretty simple, a bit of brusho powders, the LARGE SEQUIN WASTE mask, a little retired Artistic Stamper stamp, and a teeny tiny heart embellishment, oh and a touch of crackle paste...just cos that's my new obsession at the moment!!!... I am always behind the queue!!.

Hope you can join in this months "HEART IT" challenge with us.

Butterfly card by Titbelsoeur

Hi all there !
I love to use these new stamps, the butterfly ones have such a graphic look and this Butterfly Trellis © Neil Walker is a great stamp to make cards. To make this card, I have used watercolours, this is really appropriate to highlight this stamp. I have completed the card with the sentiment from Quotes & Sayings 1 by Debs Smith and used my watercolour brush to make the spots and paint the edges :

Papillonnesquement vĂ´tre...

I hope my card gives you inspiration to participate in our

February's Creative Challenge - Heart it!

Valentine by Siobhan

A simple card for my hubbie.

I used Lesleys Pattern 2 tile mask and traced through direct onto my card, I then hand drew a heart and cut out the stencilled pattern within the heart.

to emphasise the heart shape I punched some holes the edges.

Now eagle eyed people will notice the card changed colour, well over eager pencil rubbing out led to me ripping one of the pieces, grrrr.  But in fact this was good as I was able to make a better version, I ensured I centred the stencil spot on, and then I cut from the reverse because it gives a cleaner finish.

I finished the piece by using a piece of glitter card I acquired from a christmas card this year.

A Valentine's Gift Box...by Angie Coomber

A Valentine's Gift Box

I kept some little kraft boxes from Christmas (they had lovely jewellery in them!) and decided I would alter one and give it a new lease of life as a Valentine's gift box.

I got my tin of "junk" (broken jewellery, watch parts, bits of wood, embellishments, lace - you know the kind of stuff I mean!) and experimented with the layout of various bits and pieces on the box lid until I was happy (it might be useful to take a photo at this point!).

First I added some texture paste through a stencil, then glued all of the embellishments to the box with thick gel medium, filling in some of the gaps with micro beads. Once this was reasonably dry I painted over everything with white gesso.

Next I picked 3 colours (a burgundy red, orange and turquoise, one of my favourite colour combos) and painted the whole thing.

I added dabs of gel medium and embossing powder, then used a heat gun. I also applied some gold wax with my finger to highlight some areas. Lastly I added some random script and star stamping, and of course a word sticker.

Now what shall I put in it...?

Hope you like it.
Until next time,
hugs from Angie x

Hello happy crafters !

Today I want to show you 2 frames I have made with this fabulous new stamp Large Bee I have combined with Honeycomb Background & Free Bees .

I'm lovesick for you!!!

Hi Guys, Jane here, it's my turn to do a bit of inspiration, and with Valentines Day just around the corner, I thought I would crack on with mine...even tho my idea went a little on a tangent, I have to say that I wont be sending my partner this card!!!!..he is the sentimental, mushy, long meaningful verses type of guy, bless him!!...the exact opposite of me!!!

Soooo, this card was pretty quick and easy to do, a piece of craft card, scrubbed a bit of gesso on, then stencilled using the SMALL DOTS mask, then using one of the splats from the SPLATS AND SWIRLS mask, I used a mixture of texture paste and paint to try mimic a puddle of sick.....then added a die cut heart on the top, and voila!!...not the mushiest of valentines cards, but it made me giggle!!
Hope you can join in with this months challenge, which is "Heart It"

February's Creative Challenge - Heart it!

Welcome to our challenge for the month of February.
Thank you to everyone who joined in last month's challenge.

This month the theme is Heart it and can be interpreted any way you like, as long as it has rubber stamps on it. To join in with this challenge (we are limiting the challenge entries to 3 per person), is simple; all we would like you to do is, make a piece of artwork, making sure that you include the theme and some rubber stamping. Pop back here to link up using the Inklinkz at the bottom of this post, so that we can see what you've made and then, leave us a comment to let us know you have joined in with the challenge.

As always, there will be candy for one randomly picked entrant - the winner will receive a stamp of their choice from The Artistic Stamper .
In addition, you can enter the same challenge on Facebook! There is no prize on there, it's just for fun!
To join us on just go to our new Facebook group, and send us a request to join..
And don't forget....if you use The Artistic Stamper stamps on your entry, you will entered into the draw, twice!

I had this feeling that the Neil Walker Heart Square stamp looks like a labyrinth... then I have added "start" and "finish" to the stamped image and written "the heart is a terra incognita" and "happy Valentine" on the card :

I hope my card gives you inspiration to participate in our February challenge : Heart it !
