Houses by Gemma

Hello Everyone

This this post I created a quick, bright fun card, that just made me feel very chilled and happy.

To start with I cut a piece of card to fit the front of my card blank, I also took I sheet of scrap paper and ripped it into three sections. I used these sections of paper as masks to create the sections on the back ground. After blocking off the sections with the scrap paper I used acrylic paints to first paint a layer of block colour on the base and then a slightly darker colour over the top through a mask.

I used the same mask for all three sections and once dry I stamped the phrase from the our house   plate by Kathleen Fullman.

I also stamped out several of the houses from the same set. Before painting them all with the same basic, red, blue and yellow colours. Once they were dried and glued into place, I added some extra colour with pencils and went around all the houses with a black pen.

Thank you so much for reading

Inspiration using red yellow and blue by Debs

Hi Everyone

Hope you are enjoying the challenge this month.  Such great colours!
Here is my latest piece of 'inspiration' for you

I used a journal but this technique would work well on a card or on a canvas
I started by stamping some text using mini calligraphic mat 20 and calligraphic mat 11 with black archival

Then ripped up the text and stuck randomly onto the page and covered in white gesso

Next i added some grunge paste through the A4 Swirl Mask and then is started spraying

Nice and bright you might think!

This is exactly the same page after the ink has dried, dylusions reacts beautifully with gesso and immediately lightens the inks, giving you a much more subtle tone.

I stamped some of the shells from the Shells mat onto white tissue with brown archival and once glued in place i used a charcoal pencil to outline.  I then stamped inspiration from the Journaling words 3 mat

To finish i added a touch more gesso down the middle of the page

I shall look forward to looking through all of your project for this month and don't forget you still have a bit more time to still enter both on the blog or on the Facebook page

Red, Yellow and Blue tag by Gemma

Hello Everyone

I made a Tag for this post, following this months challenge theme, Red, Yellow and Blue. There is still loads of time to enter both here on the blog and on the facebook page

I stamped Lesley Matthewson's flower stamp onto book paper, with archival ink and cut them out.

On a plain manila tag I blended Fossilized amber, Barn door and Tumbled glass Distress inks together. Sprinkling water over the top. I always love watching the way Distress ink react to water, I don't ever think I will get bored of it.

Using the same colours of ink in the matching areas of the tag I stamped onto the background using Lace and Punk plaid background stamps.

Over this I stamped the straight diamond boarder from the boarders A5 plate with black ink, coming in from the edges of the tag. I then glued three of the flowers I had stamped out and the words "just for you" onto the tag. Once I was sure everything was dry I drew in the stem of the flowers with a black pen, and added a boarder around the edge of the tag.

Travel card by Titbelsoeur

Hi there, this is Titbelsoeur here today
Are you planning to travel this summer ?
Here is a card about journeys...

I made it on a torn and peeled cardboard, covered here and there with gesso and ink.
I stamped the travel triptych on to gelli-plated paper, many times, and chose 2 of them to illustrate my purpose.
I stamped the sentiment on Bazzill paper with turquoise blue ink and added some tickets from my stash.
