A journey and the 2nd Anniversary Stamp Giveaway by Emma

Hello everyone! As you all know by now, here at The Artistic Stamper, during the month of August we're in party mood and celebrating the 2nd Anniversary of the Creative Team blog and because we want you to join us in our celebration we have decided to mark the occasion with some stamp giveaways.

Each team member has chosen stamps to giveaway on their post, and these are the stamps that I have chosen to use.

And here is what I've made using the stamps, I hope you like it!!

To begin with, I stamped the smallest flower onto Grungepaper, to give me enough petals to make two dimensional blooms. I blended Picked Raspberry DI over the them and then created the flowers. I stamped two of the Tick Tock Butterflies onto a further piece of Grungepaper and blended these with Salty Ocean DI before placing the dimensional blooms into the centre of each butterfly.

I covered some chipboard in the Sticky Back Aluminum and then die cut some cogs using the Tim Holtz Alterations die, from my own stash. I then covered the die cuts with Hazelnut and Sunshine Yellow Alcohol Inks.

To make the background, I sprayed some white card with Fresh Lime and Vibrant Turquoise Dylusions Ink Sprays and blended the edges with Walnut Stain DI. I then used some more DI and the Raspberry Adirondack paint dabber and added some colour through the Mini Circle Explosion Crafter's Workshop Template. Next, I inked up the Random Dots stamp with black Archival Ink and stamped around the edge before finally, applying the Snow Cap Paint Dabber to the same stamp and again, stamping random areas around the edge and attached the inky background to my card blank.

I then took a piece of gold mirror card from my stash, embossed it with a Texture Fade and applied Sunshine Yellow and Citrus Alcohol Ink to the card. I adhered my backgrounds to a card blank and then added my grungepaper butterflies, blooms and cogs to it.

Finally, I stamped the Journey word onto a piece of white card, blended with Antique Linen DI and cut the card into a banner shape, before adding it to complete my artwork.

Alison's Seaside Giveaway - Part One

Hello Stampers! As you probably know, it's the 2nd Anniversary of The Artistic Stamper's Creative Team Blog, and to mark the occasion, we have lots of giveaways this month.

Each member of the team has chosen some stamps to work with in August, and those are the stamps you could win, just by leaving a comment on our post, or on our personal blog posts. You can see my blog post HERE.

Here are the Seaside stamps that I have chosen to use...

And here is my first piece of art for August...

It started off life as an Altoid Mint tin!

To begin, I separated the lid and base, and gave them both a good two coats of Studio Black Gesso, inside and out.

I stamped the swimmer from Seaside No. 1 plate onto a Stampbord domino using Archival Black Ink, and coloured her in with Distress Inks, and a waterbrush. I used Peacock Feathers and Brushed Corduroy. I used clear UTEE to double emboss the image, & whilst the UTEE was still molten, I sprinkled some Macarena Beadazzles in the bottom left corner.

Returning to the tin lid, I used a palette knife to apply a thick layer of Viva Ferro on the top. I squished the stampbord piece into it, then set it aside to dry thoroughly.

Once dry, I applied some silver Viva Gold all over the outside of the tin to accentuate the texture. I used Glossy Accents to glue pearl beads around the image.

I made a little starfish, using gold friendly plastic in a mould, then applied some blue Viva Gold onto the texture. I used a glue gun to stick the starfish to my tin.

Here is my first use of these stamps : I have stamped the whole plate on an old sheet that I would use to cover this tin can.

Circles cut in an old pair of jeans, a button and a zip.... tadammm ! here is a flower !

But I am sure that you Eagle-eyes have immediately noticed the stamped text on the top zip...

and on the piece of fabric below the flower...

YES ! this is an extra stamp that you can win ALONG WITH the The Open Road 1 plate, just only leaving a (nice) comment on one of my post here and/or there ! isn't it simple as good morning* ? Isn't that another good news ???

Zuzu's Anniversary give-away post: part 1....

As you know by now, it is the 2nd anniversary of  "The Artistic Stamper Creative Team" blog this month, and to celebrate, Jennie is giving away stamps to some lucky followers.

Time after Time by Sioux Jenneys

Hello everyone happy 2nd anniversary to us!
I'm here to share a little something different today...
...it was a challenge to photograph it I can tell you LOL :)

1. I stamped the large and small clock faces from the Tick Tock plate onto acetate (old packaging, yeh) using Staz On black and cut them out leaving a little tab at the bottom to be able to fix them to the base....hope you can see that in the following picture.

2. I stamped the large and small dancer from the Dance plate onto card using Archival coffee and black and cut them out...again leaving a little tab of card to attach them to the base....then stamped one of the separate bodice pieces in crimson Archival, cut out and coloured with shabby shutters Distress Ink and attached.

3. I then stamped the large outline dancer onto some black shrink plastic...cut out and shrunk...and because I managed to get one of her hands stuck and it went all misshaped I added a little shrunk plastic star for her to hold to disguise the deformity...
...I could have told you the star was intentional all along, but I'd be lying!!! LOL

4. I die cut one edge of the card for the back wall with the scroll on the edge die and inked up those fabby cogs in various shades of Distress Inks....spiced marigold, shabby shutters and scattered straw.

5. The base was cut in a similar way using an on the edge die and covered with some paper from the Crowded Attic stash then edged with gold Paint Dabber.

6. The sentiment from Tick Tock was stamped onto white card and cut to form a banner.

7. The final sentiment from the Dance plate was stamped onto a Bigz tiny tags die and attached using an Ideaology hitch fastener and the larger dancer is holding aloft one of the metal mini crowns cut in half and coloured with Alcohol inks.

Ooh! Making that made me happy :) See you again soon!

Kathryn Wheel Project, by Marjie Kemper

I'm very excited to be guesting here at The Artistic Stamper this month... thanks so much to Jennie and Emma for the invitation!

I chose Kat's Creations house stamps as the focus for my August calendar page.  These funky house stamps are available in several different sizes and combinations ~ I used the set called Our House A6. I stamped the houses repeatedly on manila cardstock and cut and colored them before adhering to the page. I also cut some of the stamped images apart and regrouped them so my little town would have some variety in the way the buildings are positioned.  They are all colored with Ranger Distress Markers and edged with black soot Distress Ink.

For the background, I sprayed my large watercolor paper with Dylusions Ink Sprays (lemon zest, pure sunshine, and postbox red), spritzed with water, and let all the colors run a bit.  I then stamped and stenciled using loads of Crafters' Workshop stencils (mini circle explosion, large circles, chicken wire, punchinella, mini harlequin, chevron) and Distress Inks (barn door, spiced marmalade, wild honey, mustard seed, gathered twigs and black soot).  

The background stamps are a mix of Tim Holtz's (Ultimate Grunge), this bubble border stamp, the numbers stamp from the Family Values set, and a few unmarked ones from my stash.  The banner is by Dyan Reaveley, stamped on manila and colored with her Dylusions ink sprays.  I used a square punch for my dates and wrote August spanning the width of the page. 

My date format is irregular but that's been a great part of the fun of participating in the Kathryn Wheel project... seeing how many ways one really can make a calendar page.
