Doodle Birds by Georgina Sweetenham

Hi it's Georgina with my third and final post as this month's Guest Designer. My final project is a Stepper Card using a lovely selection of Neil Walker stamps.

I started by decorating a stepper card blank. I used a combination of mini Doodle Bubbles and mini Doodle Background stamps from the Mini Backgrounds stamp set. I used light and dark green, and dark blue ink pads. I overlapped the stamped images to form a patchwork effect.

The birds I used on the card are again Neil Walker stamps. I used Money Bird and Mechanical Bird individual stamps. From the Birdz Set I used Mystical Bird and Funky Bird. I stamped the birds with a Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad. I coloured the images with ProMarkers.

To give the birds dimension I stamped each birds three times. I cut out one complete image and then sections from the other two stamped images (as shown below).

I attached all the layers together with foam pads.

Once all the birds were finished I added Glossy Accents to the beaks and black pearls for eyes. I also stamped and layered-up just the flowers and leaves from the Mechanical Bird.

The sentiment is from the Journaling Words #1 stamp set. I stamped the words onto a strip of white card. I added dot-dash border around the strip with a black fineliner. I stamped the image again and cut out just the 'dreams' which I added to the card with foam pads. I added the birds and flowers to the card. To finish I added various colours of Stickles.

Beside the Seaside by Georgina Sweetenham

Hi! It's Georgina again with my second blog post as this month's Guest Designer. My second project is a card with a British seaside feel. I have used stamps from the lovely Seaside No. 1 # and Beside the Seaside stamp sets both of course from The Artistic Stamper. I have used a traditional red, white and blue colour scheme.

I begun by using a range of the stamps from the two stamp sets to create the two background papers.

I used a red and dark red ink pads for the seashell panel. And bright blue and navy blue ink pads for the fish panel. I attached these to scalloped edge panels of coloured card. I like to use stamps from sets to create background designs. You can then easily co-ordinate colours and design, rather than trying to find pre-printed background paper to match.

I stamped the ships wheel design with both a dark brown and Tuxedo Black Memento ink pads. I coloured the stamped images with ProMarkers. I cut out the centre people image from the black stamped image and attached it on top of the brown stamped image. I cut out the wheel and attached it with foam pads onto a white and red die cut circles. I added Glossy Accents to the lenses of the binoculars.

I stamped the umbrella twice in red ink and one in brown. I attached the red layers on top of the brown. For the second red layer I only attached the top front section with foam pads.

The sentiment is also part of the  Beside the Seaside stamp set. I stamped it in red and blue inks onto white card. I cut out the words and attached the to a blue card flag shape.

I attached all the elements to a square card blank. To finish I attached a red and blue stamped anchor design with foam pads.

Encyclopaedia Botanica by Georgina

I am Georgina and I will be joining the blog this month as a Guest Designer. I am thrilled to be here and I look forward to sharing my project with you all. I hope you like them!

For my first project I have made a card using the lovely Encyclopaedia Botanica stamp set. I just love floral stamps sets. I have used the stamps in the set to create the two main images, the sentiment, pattern papers and butterfly embellishments. As everything is from the same stamp set it co-ordinates together very well. The top photos shows the card folded up and the photo below shows in the inside of the card once it's opened.

The card base was made from two 148x148mm white square card blanks. I attached one panel from each card together to form the back section. I then scored in half and folded the left and right panels as shown in the photo below.

I used the two large floral images from the Encyclopaedia Botanica stamp set to create the panels on the front of the card. I stamped each element in a different colour, e.g. leaves in green, flowers in pink and yellow etc.

I drew a rectangle the same size onto the green stamped images. I cut around the rectangle but when the flower was outside the rectangle then I cut around it (as shown below). I cut out and attached the petal and centres onto the green image. I also used ink from the ink pad and a waterbrush to lightly add colour to the petals and centres. I also added one of the yellow flowers with foam pads to add extra dimension. I then mounted these onto rectangles of dark brown card.

I cut panels of white and dark brown card to fit all the sections of the card. I used the stamps from the Encyclopaedia Botanica stamp set to create the patterned background panels. I stamped these using Frayed Burlap Distress ink pad.

For the inside centre panel I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set in dark green ink. I mounted this onto dark green card and attached inside the card along with a strip of dark brown card. I added faux stitching.

I attached the floral image panels to the front of the card with foam pads. I stamped a selection of the small and large butterflies with a Walnut Stain Distress ink pad. I also used ink from the ink pad and a waterbrush to lightly add colour to the butterflies. I cut these out and attached them to the card. To finish I added Glossy Accents to the bodies of the butterflies.
