I've got these fabulous Postage stamps(No1) from Artistic Stamper and I kept them to use for some special project... today is the day... :)

I created Post Cards.

I created 4 1/4" * 6" Post card with white card stock. I started with spraying Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise on it. I spritzed water on it to dilute the color. Next I've done Dyan's famous ghost technique, got some lovely layers. I've used many stamp stamps at the top right corner. Calligraphy Mat12 for text. Leaves stamp is from Leaves A5 set.

I stamped dragonfly twice, once on this post card and second on another white paper. Fussy cut it and adhered it to create layered effect.

I got carried away and made two more Post cards,

here I've used Dylusion's Cheery Pie spray ink and Neil Walker bird Stamp.

And on this card, I spritzed Dylusion's Dirty Martini ink and have used bird from Birds of Feather stamp set.

Layered Journal cover

I got plain Art Journal for myself recently. And when I decided to make cover for that, I  could not think other than my lovely Artistic Stamper stamps. And I used many to create this Vintage Journal cover.

I started with stamping some images

I've used Gibson girl plate # 1stamp, Waches, large Butterfly stamp from Insects and Butterfly N0 1 , my favourite small bird from Birds of Feather set,

Botanical plate# 1, small flowers from Botanial Plate # 3, small Bingo card stamp, 

Calligraphy Mat 13

I stamped them with black and Coffee Ranger Archival Inks.

I took design paper from Prima Vintage Journey paper pad. Applied gesso and dried it with heat tool. With crafters workshop stencil and Clear Crackle embossing paste I created texture. If you click on this photo you can see beautiful crackles. Then, I spritzed Lindy's stamp gang inks in various blue, red and brown colors, created some drips. They made beautiful layers.

Here also you will see the background texture and layers.

Next on the base I created layers with stamped images, design papers from Graphic 45 couture pad, diecut doily, Tag. I gave these paper vintage look with spraying inks and applying Distress inks - Vintage photo, Broken China, Walnut stain. I distresses edges with Tim Holtz Paper Distresser.

Here you will see cute lil' birdie, vintage charm, wooden button and  flowers as my embellishments.

I am totally in love with these Gibson Girls stamp set. Images are lovely and we can add them on any project. I adhered the stamped image of this girl on diecut frame, which I distressed before with broken china distress ink. Other than flowers, you will see Prima jute trim which is perfected suited here. And colored butterfly is perfect fit in the corner, it has beautiful design on it.

In the middle, I've created tile with floral stamp. I colored it again with distress inks - Peeled paint and Broken china, vintage photo.

A little Bird told me....

Today I am sharing with you 'a Wall hanging Project' which I have created with Neil Walker designed 'large heart stamp'. 

Let me share with you how I have created this. 

I applied gesso on to the most of the part of brown packaging piece. When it dried completely, I stamped text with  Artistic stamper Calligraphy Mat 4. Also added some texture with Mini sequin background stamp to create a background.

 Next I spritzed water on gessoed area and applied Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick distress paints randomly. I adhered white lace and brown burlap piece to create layers. 

On another white stamping paper I stamped large hearts with tattered rose distress paint. Fussy cut them. And attached on the surface. Cute little bird is from 'Birds of feather' stamp collection.

I die cut all the flowers from Sizzix Tattered floral die and blue burlap. 'A Little bird Told Me...' sentiment  stamp is from Artistic stamper Birds of Feather collection. I stamped it with Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink.

Today, I have colorful project to share with you.

Birds Printers Tray

It is a MDF printers tray which I colored with acrylic paints. I've used Graphic 45 Botanical Tea papers in the background.

Artistic Stamper has got cutest collection of Bird stamps and this project is dedicated to them.

I've used Money Bird, Mystical bird, Mechanical bird and Funky bird stamps designed by Neil Walker. And small bird in the middle is from 'Birds of a feather' stamp collection.

I stamped all birds with Ranger Archival jet black ink, colored them with distress inks -
Blue birds - Broken china, Faded Jeans, Peacock feather,
Pink Birds - Victorian velvet, worn lipstick and dusty concord

Leaves are also handmade. I stamped Autumn leaves designed by Katy Leitch with Leaf green archival ink. Cut them and applied Peeled paint distress ink at the edges. Aren't they look real?

One day I'll fly away...

Hello everyone, Alison (butterfly) here with some journalling pages created in a small hardback book.  (Remember you can always click on a photo for a close-up.)

If you've come from my Words and Pictures sneak peek, you'll already know it's not a happy love story being told here.  If you're all loved up for Valentine's Day, you might want to skip it!  I might as well issue a long post warning too while I'm at it.  Cups of tea (or maybe shots of whisky) at the ready...

I've used stamps from the Birds of a Feather plate to express the need of this woman to break out of the relationship which is keeping her caged up.

All she wants is to be set free, to be allowed to fly high and alone.

There are little hearts all around the page, but if you look closely you'll see that many are actually slightly broken, cracked hearts (a touch of Crackle Accents over the Grunge Paste).

And although the cage is a beautiful one it's still a prison...

I started with some torn strips torn from the Tim Holtz Kraft Resist Paper Stash, stuck down with medium.

I started playing with the elements I wanted to include, the stamped and fussy cut bird and cage, and the little vintage photo.

Next I swept some paint over them, working from the spine outwards.  I used Grunge Paste to add the tiny hearts through a stencil, and finally added some splatters of Espresso Color Wash.

But I wanted some blue to add a melancholy feel - so I dabbled and spritzed Stormy Sky Distress Stain across the pages.

I added some extra stamping - the words from Katy Fox's Carte Postale set and some postmarks from the same set.

And having worked out the positions with the fussy cut versions, I now stamped the birds direct to the page using Sepia Archival ink.

I outlined some of the hearts with a PITT pen, and later added Crackle Accents to those ones.

Some Vintage Photo Distress Ink swiped over the whole page warms the tone of the papers again and highlights textures, including the little hearts.

I just had to use my new Spring Greenery die to add the ivy trailing across the pages - I hope it will be amongst Jennie's new CHA stock soon!  It's cut from Kraft Core in the 12 x 2.5 inch size - exactly right for cutting Decorative Strip Dies.

I sanded it and then inked over with Stormy Sky and Vintage Photo Distress Stains to give it the weathered look.

And I added one of the Idea-ology Compass Coins, dabbed with Stormy Sky... which way will she go once she is free?

Both she and the bird cage are layered over some torn book pages, edged with Distress Ink.

And the little bird has had a touch of penwork just to bring him into focus.

And the final touch was to add a couple of woodcut meadow grasses, inked with Stormy Sky Distress Stain... no more wandering in the meadows with her lover for this woman.

These mementos will now lie, forgotten, between the pages of a book.

So there are my pages for you - a walk on the darker side of love in the run-up to Valentine's Day.

What can I say?  Not everyone enjoys the 14th February...

Promises of Spring by Astrid

Hello everyone and welcome! Can you believe it is nearly the end of February and in less than a month time the official start of Spring has come? Well I for one am certainly ready for a bit of warmth and sunshine!!

Today I am sharing a kind of card book made from two envelopes. Inside are two pockets for tags or gift cards or whatever you please.

This is how to make it:
First put the flap of one of your envelopes inside the other one and then glue them together as shown on the photos.

Next cover  the out side with scrapbook paper. You could of course also just ink them and create your own background, but I have an endless supply of papers and decided that really I should use some of it, also to add more strength to the project.  I inked and stamped over it to add more colour and make it more interesting. For this I used the following back ground stamps: Calligraphic Mat 12 and Chicken Wire Background. I also used various Distress Inks and Dylusion Sprays.
Before covering the inside flaps with paper in a similar way, I ran them through a Texture Fade embossing folder to add texture. I then stamped some images from the Insects and Butterflies 1 set and the Birds of a Feather set in Archival Ink Jet Black, fussy cut them, coloured with water colour pencils and then after the papers were stuck to the envelopes, used them to embellish my project. I'll let the photos tell the story of how ☺...

A few spritzes of Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold added some sparkle still and I rubbed some gilding paste over the raised ambossed bits.
I then made a die cut tag to fit inside one of the pockets and inked and stamped it in the same way using the Birds of a Feather set. Again I coloured the images with water colour pencils and added shadows around the images to add depth.

For the other pocket I computer generated a card with a Spring Poem on it

Finally for the front cover I die cut a label  out of scrapbook paper and then stamped the Caterpillar Words in Jet Black Archival again and finished it all of with some roses and a piece of String to tie it shut.
