Bright Ideas Notebook by Marjie Kemper

Today I'm sharing a little notebook I made with the Inspiration Lightbulb stamps.  I stamped the blank bulb twice on manila cardstock and then 'filled' one bulb with mini gears from Borders A6 and another with the Notebook background stamp.  I stamped the bases of the bulbs onto Ranger's metal foil tape and popped the bulbs up on cardboard.
The main tag is inked with distress inks and covered with the mini gears again.  Can you tell what I used for the frame around the tag? They're the rooftops and doors from Kat's Creations Our House plate.  I couldn't stop playing with them after making my first AS piece back at the beginning of the month.   The inside is filled with a combination of blank tags and notebook tags.
I've used heavy black cardstock to reinforce my covers and Dylusions ink sprays, distress inks, black archival ink, and distress markers for my coloring.
I'd love it if you'd visit my blog (and please let me know you came by so I can come see yours, too.)

Hope you have a wonderful day, and find some time for creative play!

Marjie

THOSE PESKY BIRDS JOURNAL PAGE By Kat

Hi all, Kat here,
I have made a journal page to share with you today,
I haven't made it in a journal as I like the freedom a loose leaf gives me,
when I have made enough loose pages I am going to make them into a book.

I finally remembered to take pictures of the process,
I am really pleased with this page I hope you like it!

It features one of my empathy monsters (he is called Meenie)
I drew him myself, along with the flower,
he has 3 brothers Eenie, Mineey & Moe,
that I am sure I will be introducing you to in my pages at a later date,
along with their own special flowers,
anyway enough waffle from me, here's my page.
I would like to show you a close up of Meenie,
the birds have made their home on his head
& he is not to happy about it, LOL
another bird coming in to land
& others are circling over head
he's not getting any peace today,
Arr bless him.
OK on to the background,

the photos are self explanatory & the items I used are in them
so less typing for me, yaha!
I will list all the ingredients after the photos.

Here's what I used,

weathered wood, antique linen
bundled sage, broken china, picket fence

vintage photo, gathered twigs, rusty hinge,
wild honey, brushed corduroy, worn lipstick

jet black

Stamps I used,

sequin waste open & ink blot,

from my stash,

my own images drawn by me & then coloured with pro markers,
the phrase typed on the computer,
patterned papers, staples & ribbon

well I think that's everything,
Hope you like it!

back soon,
Kat x

VINTAGE BUNTING By Kat

Hi all, Kat here,
I'm here today with a monochrome card with a vintage feel.
I started with a 5x5 inch card
& blended Vintage Photo Distress Inks round the edge
I then stamped the cog border off the borders A6#2 stamp plate,
once onto scrap paper then onto the card to give it a lighter colour.
I then Matt & layered brown & cream card,
& blended Vintage Photo Distress Inks round the edge
& stamped the Stipple background stamp onto it.
I then stamped the focal images onto scrap card
which are Tim Holtz with Coffee archival ink cut them out
& stuck them in place with foam pads,
I used 2 of the flag designs off the Bunting plate again stamped with
I attached the little flags to a covered wire & bent it into shape
with the ade of a pencil end, then stuck it to the card as shown.

Hope you like it!
thanks for reading my post,
Kat x.

HOME & THRICE TAG by Kat

Hi all, Kat here,
The sun is shining & it feels like ages since I have made a tag,
& I also wanted to try out my new Spring Distress Inks
& the swirl stamp from the cover of craft stamper magazine.

So here it is,
To start I used Tim's Wrinkle free distress technique to colour the tag
with all three of the Spring Distress Inks,
then stamped the swirl with the Shaded Lilac colour.
I then blended the edge with Gathered Twig Distress Ink.
Next I stamped in Jet Black archival ink
the houses off the Our House stamp set,
the large butterfly off the Bunting stamp set
& the sentiment off the Home Sweet Home stamp set
I cut them out then coloured them with a wet paint brush
After I stuck it all in place
I added the ribbon & trim from Tim Holtz Trim idea-ology range.
hope you like it!
it put a happy smile on my face anyway,
thanks for stopping by, to read this post.
Take care,
Kat x.

to give a bit of texture to the sky.

for those of you that would be interested to know.

JOURNEY PLAQUE By Kat

Hi all,
Kat here, with a rather Quick project & post for you,
I don't know were the time is going lately,
one minute it's January, the next it's mid March,
the days have gotten away from me again LOL

Here is my project, I hope you like it!
As you can see it's quite a quick little project,

I used a little wooden frame as my base,
I covered it with Tissue Tape
over it, & stamped the tiny diamonds over the top
in Coffee archival ink then smudged it in
a bit with my finger to fade it into the background.

On a scrap of card cut to the size of the aperture,
& blended the same colours all over
I then stamped the wording in jet black archival ink
which is a Tim Holtz stamp,
I stamped the men the same way &
cut them out from a scrap piece of card
blended the same DI's & stuck them down with foam pads,
I added silver screw top brads to finish.
Hope you like it!
I'll be back with another project
at the end of the month,
I'm off now to frantically try to find
the days that have gone missing LOL.

BUTTERFLY PUBLICITY TAG by Kat

Hi all, Kat Here,
it feels like it's been ages since I made a tag,
so that's what I have to share with you today,
I have also had a little play with my distress stains.
so here is my creation.

I started with a size 8 manilla tag
I took took the distress stains
Picket Fence, Vintage Photo & Brushed Corduroy,
smooshed them on my craft sheet & dragged the tag through the ink
then dried it with a heat tool,
I then repeated this with the ink that was left
& dried the tag again,
I then took the vintage photo stain,
banged it on to the tag to make cool splats
(a trick that Hel's showed me) cool ha!
then dried the tag again.

I then blended round the edge with
Vintage Photo & Walnut Stain Distress Ink
& stamped the butterflies off the Papillon plate Tim Holtz.

I then stamped the butterflies on some scrap card &
coloured them in with pro markers,
cut them out & attached them over the top,
to give some dimension.

I made a little torn edge sign with THIS
fab saying & attached it to the tag with a memo pin
& to finish I stapled some brown ribbon along the side edge.

hope you like it!

just quickly,
can I say a big thank you to every one
that leaves me such lovely comments on
the things I post here,
I am always  excited to read them
& they are so appreciated.

hope to see you next time,
Kat x.

a black pit pen,
& coloured them with
by smooshing some ink on a craft sheet, watering it down
& painting it on with a water brush,
I coloured some of the buildings the same way with
next I hand drew B,L,M across the page to spell the word

the rest of the phrase is stamped with small alphabet stamps.
& to finish I used  the Small Cogs stamp
