A Doodly Twosome

Hello all!  Alison (butterfly) here again, this time with a pair of tags which are not quite in my usual vein - though they are in some of my favourite colours!

I used the new Alphabet Soup by Neil Walker as my starting point.  I clear embossed the background onto a tag.

Then I sprayed lots of lovely Dylusions colour onto it, and dried it with a heat tool.  I love the squiggly doodly lettering.

The next step was to cut Umbrella Man with the Sizzix die (did I dream it, or did I read that he's been discontinued?  In any case, he's still available here at Artistic Stamper for now).

I hadn't really planned on making two tags, but as soon as I'd cut him, I realised I had the makings of a 'positive' and a 'negative' version.

For the backgrounds, I just blended on various Distress Ink colours from grass to sky and gave both tags a good old spritz and flick with some water.

The words are all from the fabulous Journalling Words #5 set.  I stamped them onto another inky tag I had lying around on the desk, in a combination of Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers, and clear embossed the result.

I cut them and inked the edges and mounted them on padded tape for a little pop of dimension.

I altered a couple of Muse Tokens with Distress Paint, then sanded back to the metal underneath.

As soon as I saw the silvery detailing, I wanted to echo it on the rest of the tags.

So I used some silver gilding wax to edge the words and the tags themselves.

I ended up adding quite a lot of silvery sheen to the embossed Alphabet Soup too because I really liked the look of it.

A couple of twirls of metal wire finish off the tags at the top.  It's just some more of the rescued wires from some spiral bound notebooks that were being thrown away... 'waste not, want not', as they say!

And that's pretty much that... I hope you like my doodly tags.

Hello Stampers! I have a little painty tag to share with you today.

Here's what I used...

And this is how I made my tag...

I gave my tag a base coat of Snowflake Fresco paint, using a brayer. I brayered on some Bora Bora, dried with a heat gun, applied some London Bus, drying again, then finished with a little Snowflake to tone down the colours.

I stamped the larger dots from the Borders set along the bottom edge with archival ink. I inked up just a small part of the tiny dot border, & stamped my background. I used the white pen to highlight some of the tiny dots, then edged the tag with archival ink.

I stamped the dancer onto white card, coloured her with watered down London Bus Fresco, cut her out & glued her to the tag with glossy accents.

I stamped the Dylusions phrase onto white card, cut it out & used glossy accents to glue it to the tag.

I coloured some seam binding with watered down London Bus Fresco, tied it to the top of my tag, then finished with a jump ring and charm.

Do you know stamp kissing ?

Hello happy crafters !

This is Titbelsoeur today showing you the very last technique I found out on the internet : stamp kissing !

What is this about ? very simple : you have some plain stamps, like the Artistic Stamper's butterflies :

 and textured ones... you ink each of them with different colors, and make them have a kiss.... 

 so that your butterflies have clock wings if they have a kiss with 

 Fantasy ones if they are in love with

or steampunk wings if they kiss cogs :

Isn't it a funny technique ? and the results are really stunning, aren't they ?

I did make some, just to have a try, then cut them out and sticked them on to a card I had made the background with the fabulous Europe map and the Journey sentiment.

On the other side, you make nice stampings with the structured one :

Steam Punk Birdz By Dee Adams

Hi Everyone! Dee here again I hope you are all enjoying my creations.

Today I have another piece using Neil Walker's  birdz plate.

Around the left hand side and along the bottom put grunge paste 

through the clocks stencil. On the top right hand side

 put grunge paste randomly through a star stencil. Once dry paint the 

whole board with honey dew Fresco Finish paints

Once dry paint with fresco finish paints in the following colours:- haystack, pumpkin soup, 

south pacific & inky pool.

Smoked paprika and dry claret was then dry brushed on to the grey board.

Or you can apply this with your finger. Again dry and then 

apply treasure gold to the grunged clocks and stars.

On a separate piece of gray board I cut out a circle so that the clock from the

 time and keys plate stamped perfectly on to it. Or use the chipboard shapes

 that go with the stamps but cut of the top to make a circle. 

I then painted this with honey dew and once dry I stamped the clock face 

onto it and watered down haystack paint and gently darken the centre.

I coloured a separate piece of board with peeled paint distress ink 

and then stamped the smaller clock face onto it and cut it out. 

I then rolled them on an embossing pad, gold embossing powder

was then applied round and heat set. The centre was filled with

 crackle accents and three very small cogs were dropped into it while still wet.

I stamped the Neil Walker Birdz x 2 onto mop up card and cut out. I then gently

 applied vintage photo distress ink to the clock face to highlight the cracks. I  assembled

 the clocks and birdz using a Tim Holt's metal wing, then a cog was 

placed at the bottom. I placed four brads to the 

top left hand side. 

I mounted it all onto black card and used scrabble letters. Thank you for taking

I made a Seaside Bookmark, with collage stamping from Seaside No. 1 & Beside The Seaside A6. I water coloured with Distress Inks, then laminated my bookmark, & added an eyelet, fibres & silver charms.

I have created the Journal page with New Neil Walker bird stamp, Gibson Girls Plate 1 and Katy Leitch - Fly stamps. To make  the  background  texture, I've used Prima seashore paper and gauze.
I brought the colors on page with Dylusion Inks - Calypso Teal, After Midnight, Distress Paints - Tumbled glass, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feather

A Journey is measured in Friends

Hello Everyone,Shilpa here,
Hope you loved the theme of our June challenge and linked up your beautiful projects here. If  you have not yet... I brought you bit of inspiration,

I started off with thick chipboard 8*10" which I gessoed first. To create the texture I stamped the Calligraphic Mat 4  and  Random dots on the tissue paper with  Black Archival Ink. And adhered it on the surface. And gessoed again to push it in background.

I blended Peacock feather, Tumbled glass, Stormy sky and Picket fence Distress paints and sprayed water to get the colour on, as I was trying to make it blue sky. Allowed it to dry thoroughly with my heat tool. For some more texture I used Crafters workshop spinning tops stencil and peacock feather distress ink. I stamped circles with white acrylic paint randomly on the background.

I stamped these small green branches at the edges with Katy Leitch's  Botanical plate2  stamp set and Fern Green Archival ink  Aren't they lovely?

 At the bottom corner, I stamped  with small flower from  Botanical plate1 and Staz on Blazing Red and coloured them more with PIIT pens

And these beautiful butterflies are from New Neil Walker stamp collection at Artistic stamper. I stamped them with same Blazing red Staz on ink. I also applied Mod Podge and sprinkled Clear Rock Candy distress glitter. I've taken this photo in sun, hope you can see the shimmer.

And finally added these words from Traveling stamps set.
