August Challenge - Macho Men

Goodly Morning Stampers and welcome to a brand new challenge for August. Many thanks for all your wonderful entries for July, the winner of this challenge will be announced on Wednesday August 3rd. The new challenge this month is MEN/ALL THINGS MALE THEMED To join in with the challenge is simple; make a piece of artwork, include the theme and some rubberstamping, pop back here to link up using the Froggy at the bottom of this post and leave us a comment to let us know you have joined in. As ever there will be candy for one randomly picked entrant - £15 worth of The Artistic Stamper stamps of your choice plus the Kling On to mount them onto. Moving on, last month we were very lucky to have the very creative and talented Gillian Simson as our Guest Designer, she pulled out all the stops and made some amazing pieces of altered art for the team. This month our Guest Designer is Anneliese Bates and we are all really excited to see the marvellous creations that she will bring to this blog.

The team has been busy making samples for the challenge for you to see:

Alison made this striking card using Black Soot Distress Core'dinations embossed with the Steampunk Texture Fade. She tore the edges and used Black Soot Distress Ink to age them. The Collage Man stamp was coloured with wax crayons. Alison used inks to colour the background and to finish she added a jute wrap and a lovely little Steampunk Brass Charm to the card.

Nicky Cresswell

Nicky got cutting with her Vagabond machine and used lots of Alterations Dies to make her piece, including: Tag Die, Regal Crest, Pennants On The Edge & the Typeset Alphabet. She used Core-dinations from the Distress range, embossing the tag with a Notebook Embossing Folder. Nicky then created a gorgeous focal point on her tag, stamping this little chap from the Childhood Memories plate... adding in a Regal Background stamp and a crown from Crowning Glory. She finished her tag by tying some rag ribbons through the top.

Sioux Jenneys

Sioux has really explored the versatility of the Core-dinations cardstock and made a fabby little matchbox. She used a Texture Fade to get some embossing onto the cardstock and added Distress Ink to this to age it. A Hitch Fastener makes a fabulous drawer pull and... inside the box there is a little treasure too... see Sioux's blog to find out what it is :O))

Hels Sheridan

This month I too have gone bonkers with the Core-dinations cardstock, using a mix of the Ranger and the Adirondack colours too. The tag base was coloured with Black Soot, I then randomly sprinkled Black Soot Distress Powder over it and heated, then scratched away the release particles. The grey card was stamped with a Cog Background using black Archival and then crumpled and sanded to reveal the lighter colour core. Brolly Man was cut using the Vagabond and the Ranger Core-dinations and embossed with the Music Texture Fade. I cut Mini Cogs & Gears Movers & Shapers and the Steampunk On The Edge die... and popped all of these onto the card base using a Tiny Attacher to do the fastening. I cut a Ticket from the Ticket Alterations and added a sentiment and finally, coloured some Seam Binding and added Idea-ology Bulb and Plaquette.

Thanks for looking everyone, have a wonderful August! Do pop back in a few days time as there will be something exciting revealed here at The Artistic Stamper.

TTFN Hels x
