Hey You!..by Jane

For this card I have tried to emulate the kind of patterns that you would see in the 1970s. I wish that had been my era, I loved the fashion, the colour combinations, but mostly the music, when I hear a bit of T.Rex, The Osmonds, Roy Orbison....Oooohhhh. LOL, are some of you reading this and saying "Who?" ....hee hee. Anyway here is my card..

A Concertina Memory book by Angela Radford

A Concertina Memory book.

Five Kraft style envelopes joined together.
I created two different Masterboards and cut to size then edged the pieces ready to layer up.
Stamped, fussy cut and heat embossed the images.
I added glitter glue in places and added journaling pages to the back.

Masterboard 1.

The front of the book shows the beautiful stamps which I coloured and fussy cut before attaching.
The main pages were made by simply smooshing ink onto card.
The pockets and layering pieces were the first Masterboard, smooshing ink onto the card and then rolling up the lace stamp (this prevents any lines appearing when stamping) and dabbing it in places around the card.
The next stage was to stamp and heat emboss the button stamps for added interest.
Continue to pick up more colour from your craft sheet and more stamping with the lace stamp until you're happy with the finish then buff over the design to bring out the detail of the embossed buttons.

Masterboard 2.

I used a ghosting technique for this Masterboard by stamping and heat embossing the sewing machine stamp around the card and then adding colour with a blending tool.
Continue to add more colour and more heat embossed stamping and when completed iron off the heat embossing and the layers of colour will come to life.
At this stage I prepared the envelopes by joining them together and layered everything up to create the concertina book.
I've added old lace, ribbon, tags, Glitter glue, glazes and threads for added interest.
Hope you enjoyed watchoing me make this littlebook, and I look forward to seeing all your ideas for the challenge.
Happy Creating

A thing of Beauty, by Jane

For this months "Retro" challenge, I have made a card using retro 70s style taking inspiration of the colours from that time, which were lots of brown, beige, and turquoise. I used to absolutely hate this kind of combination and style, but, now I love it, oh the beautiful wallpapers and shirts with their bold shapes, and symmetrical lines, just gorgeous.

June's Creative Challenge - Retro

Hello, and welcome to June's challenge, with a brand NEW prize!, and a GUEST Designer!
We are slowly coming out of lockdown here in the UK, and we are seeing lots of online classes, and fabulous artwork too. Thank you for joining in last month. Gorgeous creations.
We will be opening our Bricks and Mortar shop this month, and hope if you are near us, you will come and visit. Appointments will be necessary. Watch our Facebook page, and website for more details.
This month and for the next month, we are giving YOU an opportunity to join our Creative Team for a month, and get to use The Artistic Stamper stamps, and be posted on this blog, and on social media. Come and create and be in it to win it!

This month the theme is Retro and can be interpreted any way you like, as long as it has rubber stamps on it.

To join in with this challenge (we are limiting the challenge entries to 3 per person), is simple; all we would like you to do is, make a piece of artwork, making sure that you include the theme and some rubber stamping. Pop back here to link up using the Inklinkz at the bottom of this post, so that we can see what you've made and then, leave us a comment to let us know you have joined in with the challenge.

We will pick a winner early next month from the entries, so get your thinking caps on, bring out your inks and stamps, and join in!

In addition, you can enter the same challenge on Facebook just for fun.
To join us on just go to our new Facebook group, and send us a request to join.
For inspiration, here are the team's creations.

Our Guest Designer is Angela Radford. Please welcome her, and watch out for another post later in the month.

For this project I started by making a Masterboard, Retro style and a Retro technique.I stamped the cogs using Vaseline Petroleum Jelly which makes a great ghosting resist.Next add the oxide inks to your craft mat and pick up the colours drying between shades and stamp more of the cogs until the design is complete. Fold the card blank to make a Z fold and cut the pieces to size.
Stamp the 'Girl with Clock' on a piece of the Masterboard and a piece of white card. Colour the skin areas on the white card cutting away this section on the patterned card and layer the two sections.
I've used the 'Stitches' Stamp to create a border, adding a few stitches of my own with a fine line pen and then layered everything and included a sentiment from the 'Journaling words set 2'.A few enamel dots complete the design.

Hi there. For this months "retro" themed challenge, I have emulated the works of Andy Warhol, (the can of soup guy)!! I love his work, so bright and colourful.
I have used one of the ladies from the FACES stamp set, and the words are from JOURNALING WORDS and CREATIVE ART THOUGHTS
We hope that you will join in this month's challenge, and also join us on Facebook too.
We look forward to seeing your creations. Don't forget to add a comment when you have posted your entry.
Have a Happy Creative Month
