Carpe Diem by Sioux Jenneys

Happy November ;) Can't believe where the year has gone to!!!
So much to do....so little time to do it in!!!
So here is a card to remind us to savour each and every day :)

1. I really fancied doing multiple masking layers on this one layer card so I started by stamping the butterfly onto scrap paper to make both a positive and negative mask. And did the same with the clock face image too! Just use a scalpel knife to cut out the image instead of using scissors. ;)

2. I then stamped the butterfly from Encyclopedia Botanica in Archival black onto my card...cut just a little smaller than the base card. This was then masked with the negative mask and the wording from the same plate was stamped over the butterfly in Distress Ink weathered wood.

3. Remove the negative mask and replace it with the positive mask.

4. Stamp the clock face from Tick Tock on top in Archival black and place the negative clock mask with the inner circle removed over the images.

5. Stamp the Europe Map background in Distress Ink brushed corduroy.

4. Remove both the masks and replace with the positive clock face mask and start to stamp leaves from Leaves A5 all around the clock in various Distress Ink colours (I used tea dye, wild honey, scattered straw, brushed corduroy and bundled sage)...and as long as you take note to over stamp lighter colours with darker colours there is no real need to mask the leaves. ;) Whew!!! LOL

5. Remove the mask and stamp the words Carpe Diem from Journaling Words 3 in Archival sepia and colour in with a Distress marker in aged mahogany.

6. Tatter the edges and rub black soot Distress ink straight from the pad round the edges followed by some aged mahogany....don't add any extra ink to a blending tool pad just blend the ink into the centre for a subtle colourisation.

7. Attach to the card base and you are done.

Autumn colours don't last long so seize the day and enjoy :) See you again soon!
xoxo Sioux
