Sewing Card by Alison (Craftytrog)

Hello Stampers! I made a bright, sewing themed card for my post today, I hope you like it.

Here are the ingredients...

Distress Inks - Picked Raspberry & Spiced Marmalade
Archival Inks - Jet Black & Potting Soil
Distress Stain - Spiced Marmalade
Metal Poppers

and, here's how I made my card...

1. Ink the Flowery Lace Border stamp with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink, & stamp just above the centre of a square white card. Ink the Lacy Border with Picked Raspberry, & stamp underneath the Flowery Lace.

2. Ink the zig zag stitches with Jet Black Archival Ink, & stamp between the laces. Ink the running stitch stamp with Potting Soil, & stamp over the zig zag stitches.

3. Stamp the seamstress on Smoothy White Card, using Jet Black Archival, use the waterbrush & Distress Inks to colour her dress, cut her out, & use glossy accents to glue her to the card, as shown.

4. Stamp some buttons on white card, using the Distress Inks, colour them, cut them out, & glue in place.

5. Colour some seam binding ribbon with Spiced Marmalade Distress Stain, form a bow, add some highlights with the Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, & glue to the card.

6. Glue a few metal poppers to the card, as a finishing touch.

Happy Stamping,

Embrace Possibility

Hello everyone, Astrid here, happy Sunday to you all!
When this post goes live I will be at Ally Pally and hope to catch up with some of my team mates including Jennie who I have never met before! Meanwhile, here is a pocket tag I created, with a Springtime feel to it....
I started with a size 10 manila tag and created a background using Distress Paints in Picket Fence, Broken China, Salty Ocean and Bundled Sage. I then did background stamping with Archival Inks in Leafgreen and Treebranch using the Katie Fox Numerical stamps. I then inked around the edges with Coffee Archival. I also did some stenciling with Gesso using my finger through some sequin waste.
Next I added the top layer of a paper serviette to add more interest and blended it into the tag with some more of the Distress paints.
As you can see, the bottom end of the tag is quite bare because that's where the pocket will go. I created that out of another tag, and cut the edge with a Sizzix bracket die.
I added some subtle colour to the pocket with Bundled Sage Distress Paint (mainly to act as a resist to further inking that would follow and to provide some texture) I added some stamping along the bottom and deepened the colours with Distress Inks in Salty Ocean, Stormy Sky, Bundled Sage and Frayed Burlap. Next I stamped one of the flowers and a butterfly from the Katie Fox Encyclopedia Botanica plate.
I coloured them with Distress Markers.

Then I stamped onto  two Journaling Tickets to fit inside the pocket with other stamps from the Encyclopedia set:
I will fit a small gift card behind these, so I can use the tag as a gift for someone.

Here you can see them inside the pocket. The top was finished with a decorative brad from my stash and I also added a couple of Chit Chat stickers for my sentiment. A bit of added shadow with a Black Soot Distres Marker and a water brush finished it all off.
Hope you like my tag, have a creative, inky Sunday and a good week ahead. Thank you for visiting!
