A Starry Christmas by Alison Hall

Hello Stampers!

I couldn't resist using that faux dichroic glass technique again. This time I used it on a couple of wooden stars.

Ingredients...

2 Wooden Stars

The Artistic Stamper Stamps - Greetings and Words

Viva Croco Crackling Colour - Silver or Gold

Ranger Alcohol Ink - Sailboat Blue & Purple Twilight

Clear Embossing Enamel - Ultra Thick

Versamark Embossing Ink

Book Paper

PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paint - Snowflake

Distress Ink - Black Soot

Ranger Inkssentials Glossy Accents

Clear Crushed Glass Glitter

Tinsel Twine - Silver 

2 Adhesive Gems

Instructions...

1. I started by applying Viva Croco to the stars, then left them for 24 hours, to dry and crackle.

2. I then used a felt applicator to apply the two colours of alcohol ink all over the stars, front, back and sides.

3. I applied Versamark Ink to the crackled surface, then dipped it into clear ultra thick embossing enamel. I added a couple of layers.

4. I lightly painted the book paper with Snowflake paint, then stamped the words. The word 'Wishes' comes from the greeting 'Best Wishes', I just cut out the word I wanted. I inked the edges of the words with Black Soot Distress Ink.

5. I reheated the embossed stars, and used a cocktail stick to push the words into the molten enamel. I sprinkled more clear powder on top & melted it with my heat gun.

6. I applied Glossy Accents to the edges of the stars, and dipped them into some glass glitter. This took about 24 hours to dry thoroughly.

7. I finished my stars off with an adhesive gem and some silver tinsel twine.

Hello Stampers! I have a bright & cheery birthday card to share with you today.

Here's What I Used...

Here's What I Did...

1. I started by cutting two pieces of 6x6ins water colour card.

2. I spritzed one piece of the 6x6 ins card with water, then with lemon zest Dylusions ink. Then I laid the other 6x6 ins card on the top to mop up some of the ink, and then dried both pieces with a heat gun.

3. Next, I laid the Retro Bursts template on one piece of card, spritzed with fresh lime Dylusions ink, then laid the other card on top to pick up the ink on the stencil. So, after drying, I ended up with two nice inky backgrounds.

4. I took the left hand background, and used aquamarine archival ink to stamp Calligraphic Mat 13 on it.

5. I used jet black archival ink to stamp 'Happy Birthday' from Grungy Greetings Plate No. 1, onto the right hand background. I cut my greeting out, then matted it onto water colour card, coloured with calypso teal Dylusions Ink.

6. I glued my greeting to the background, added some co-ordinating paper flowers & brads, matted it on calypso teal inked card, then attached it to a 7x7 ins card, to finish.

My other half has nabbed this card for his sister's birthday this month! :-)

Trio of Cards by Sioux Jenneys

Hello everyone! Want some cards in a hurry? Then this could be the answer!

I'm sharing a trio of cards today with you :)

1. On the first card I used the linen background and swiped a distress ink pad straight across it in Distress Ink Wild Honey then stamped it on the lower part of the card. Then the words Create from journaling words II, Life from journaling words 1 and Memories from journaling words II were stamped on top in Archival black. The word Dream from jounaling words II was added across the bottom with Distress Ink Tea Dye.

2. On the second card the same principle was used but I used the marbled 2 background and swiped a distress ink pad straight across it in Distress Ink Peeled Paint stamping it on the lower part of the card, but it did not stamp to my satisfaction!!! So I over stamped it using the linen background in Distress Ink Bundled Sage. The sentiment "Yesterday is history" from journaling words 3 was stamped on top in Archival black. The word Inspire from journaling words II was added from top to bottom in Distress Ink Wild Honey.

3. On the third card I used the random background and swiped a distress ink pad straight across it in Distress Ink Tea Dye then stamped it on the lower part of the card. Then the sentiment "Into each day" was stamped on top in Archival black. The word Wish from journaling words II was added across the bottom with Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy.

When you need three cards in a hurry and additionally don't want to pay extra for the postage by adding any dimensional embellishments it's not a bad way to go :)

Dream...dream...dream.. by Alison (Craftytrog)

Hello Stampers! Craftytrog here again, and I've got a funky card to share with you. I seem to be in a funky phase right now! Lol!

So, here's how it was made...

From the Tim Holtz Lost & Found Stack, take a 6 x 6 piece of floral paper.

Apply black paint through Andy Skinner's Hippy Chick stencil. Bump the stencil slightly to the left, then apply white paint over the top of the girls.

With the stencil in place, stamp some text (Calligraphy Mat 15), then apply a light layer of Citrus paint dabber over that, using a circular motion. I used a stiff stipple brush for this. You can still see the text showing through the paint.

Stamp the flowers from Greetings & Words 1, then add colour with purple paint.

Use a black paint pen to outline the girls.

Randomly stamp script on the background, around the girls, then sponge black paint around the edges.

Stamp the phrases from Discover Your Inner Self, Be Creative, and Greetings & Words 1, onto cream paper. Sponge Broken China Distress Ink over the words, cut them out, then glue in place with glossy accents.

Finish off by attaching the artwork to a 6 x 6 card blank.
