Thinking of you...

Hi there, Titbelsoeur here with another card !
You know that I love to try new techniques, so here is another one. How have I made it ?
I first took a background paper from my stash, one I made while my last workshop. Then I stamped here and there letters and numbers from Family Values with Broken China Distress ink. After that I sprayed the Large Sequin Waste Mask  with a mix of Festive Berries and Pink Raspberries inks.
Thinking of you from Grungy Greetings was stamped with Archival Black and the Time & Keys clocks with Archival Plum
A spray of Lemon Zest Dylusions ink, then some white acrylic on the edges and on spots here and there.

And, of course, a personalised signature from the Handstamped set on the back of the card :

Do you like this card ?
Thank you so much for stopping by, I can't wait to read your comments !

Ladies Album part 2 by Titbelsoeur

Salut les vacancières, c'est Titbelsoeur qui vous écrit !

My last post was about this fabric book I made for the first time in my life. And I must admit I am pretty satisfied of the result, for a first attempt !

I have made all the pages the same way : randomly sewing pieces of fabric, AND on each page a Lady stamped on a small square of drawing paper. This was a good opportunity to play with my various stamps from the Artistic Stamper, faces and backgrounds !

First I stamped the lady's face, masked it, and then stamped over it. I have chosen to use Gibson Girls, but not only. I have also stamped more contemporary women, like Collage Art, Age Solid , Happy Girl or Kiki

The various background stamps come from : Encyclopaedia Botanica, A Stitch in Time,
Numerical plate, Journaling Words, Time and Keys ...

Here they are :

I had a very good time making my first fabric book for you, and I hope you like it,
I also hope I gave you a terrible desire to do the same !

Thanks for stopping by, I am like always looking forward to reading your comments !

The little clock of horrors: Macabre clock... by Zuzu

Well, after a very long winter of discontent in the Zuzu household, with all my belongings being packed away and a desperate search for a new place to stay, all is well and back to crafty normal.
So here I am with my first proper "Artistic stamper" project since November...

Remember this anyone?
It was one of my first project back when i first joined the team. well that was ages ago and i am tired of it now so decided to strip it back and give it a makeover (you can, of course, just start with a new frame). you can find the frames HERE.

So, firstly i removed all the bits i had added for the last project from the frame and completely covered it in white studio gesso. Then i stamped some images in black ink, onto white tissue paper and glued them on to the frame at random. it doesn't matter too much as you will only see sections of the images after i have added embellishments.

the stamps I used were
the gentleman from the collage set and some ephemera from the bicycle set HERE
the Slow and Fast speed gauge.

i glued on embellishments and the main four numbers (3, 6, 9 & 12) and when the glue was dry i covered them in gesso too. you can find various metal embellishments like those i have used HERE, and the numbers are from HERE. you can get cogs and gears from HERE.

Next i sprayed the whole project all over with various perfect pearls sprays, ( i used sour apple, heirloom gold, mandarin & turquoise).

Once all that was done it was just a matter of adding curios. the skeleton parts are left over from Halloween. I added some other numbers; I used salvage stickers amongst other things.

I also added two little feet at the back where the frame juts out so it doesnt have to be hung up. it stands freely on a table or bedside table. although i doubt i could tell the time on it when half asleep. The final touch was to make a hole and add the clock movement ( i stole a battery from the TV remote to make sure it worked).... and there you have the little clock of horrors.

Card by Titbelsoeur

Hi there, this is Titbelsoeur showing you a card !

I started by peeling a piece of packing box, added a slight coat of gesso on it.
Then I cut a piece of newspaper and sprayed it with crushed olive distress ink. I stamped numbers from the Numerical plate on the piece of box, the newspaper and on the bit of teared waterpaint paper.
The Open Road "travel" and cycle and journey quote are stamped on a bit of toilet paper roll.
The Gibson girl is stamped on a punched sheet of newspaper that I glued on a crushed bottlecap.
To embellish the paintbrush and tube of paint, I used a bit of plastic bag that I covered with alcohol ink and melted it with a heat gun.

I had a blast making this card for you, and I hope you like it,
Thanks for stopping by, I am really looking forward to reading your comments !

Don't think I eat nothing but sardines....by Titbelsoeur

... I sometimes eat tuna !

But today this is a sardine tin I will show you (one more !)
I must admit I love making things out of sardine tins. It is the exact size to make a mini-album with cards, and the same size as the Collage Art stamps !

I have stamped it on a kraft sheet I glued on the back, then I added some stuff from my stash : a fridge lamp, a big screw, a champagne cap, a washer and a cork. On the top I glued an old cabinet hinge, and a nut under the bottom.

Then I stamped the label on a kraft envelope, stuck a real stamp on it and stamped with Katy Fox's and others from my stash.

I had real fun making this tin for you, and I hope you like it,
Thanks for stopping by, I am really looking forward to reading your comments !

Silhouettes by Titbelsoeur

Salut les patouilleuses !

This is Titbelsoeur here, showing you my last canvas... I wanted to use silhouettes on this piece, so I selected a man and a woman on a clothing catalogue (they are perfect !). And I traced their silhouettes on a OHP slide (you know, things from the former century, that nobody ever uses now ;-) and cut them out so that I kept both parts.

But before using them, I had a ball with a few background stencils you may find HERE and THERE,and when I was satisfied with my background, I finger-painted my silhouettes around :

To end, I used the watches background and calligraphic mat stamps here :

and the dots background and the words Man and Woman from the Collage art plate there :

I hope you like my canvas,

Salut les patouilleuses !
Here is my first creation for 2013, and I have chosen this card made of multiple layers. I started with purple ink I stamped the calligraphic mat on, and then glued various sheets on top of  the others, such as a piece of an envelope, postage stamps, lace, cloth label, stamped fabric, tea bag, fabric net, a button... and stamps, stamps and stamps !

Stamps I used :
Art
Inspiration
Gibson girl
Houses
Calligraphic mat

I hope you like my card,

A special canvas by Titbelsoeur

Salut les copines !
This is a very special canvas I want to share with you today, for 2 reasons : first it is fully made with recycled stuff, and second, this is going to be a long story... let's make it short ! One night, not well sleeping, I thought about the scrapbooking day that has no counterpart in mixed-media... so why not organizing a mixed-media day ? then I got in touch with 4 friends of mine to ask them if they wanted to share this odd journey with me, and they said YES ! So the 5 of us are currently leading a French forum named "Patouille et Récup" sponsored by The Artistic Stamper, each one of us presenting and tutoring her creation during 4 weeks (a single week-end was too short), and here is mine :

an old bulb, colored with alcohol inks..

 some tea bags...

the structure is made from a rice box, the lady's dress with junk envelopes, buttons, cogs, beads, a perfume sample... and even a "hello George" coffee pad, that makes a very nice hat !

And, of course, a lot of Artistic Stamper stamps :
chicken wire : http://www.theartisticstamper.com/background_stamps.htm
words : http://www.theartisticstamper.com/words_and_sayings.htm
Post stamps : http://www.theartisticstamper.com/collage_stamps.htm

I hope you like my "canvas",
thanks for stopping by,
I am looking forward to reading your comments !
See you again soon...

Raven treasure chest. By Zuzu

I am sharing this treasure chest style altered box this week. I have been readying myself for a steampunk Halloween event (lots of bands, entertainment, stalls and wonderful costumes) in Birmingham on the 27th of October. I have a wee stall there shared with a friend so have been making a LOT of boxes.

This is a nice big trunk shaped one and I have used the fantastic raven stamp "Airmail bird collage stamp" from HERE....
Apart from the stamp and a lot of paint and varnish etc, I also used one of the Ideaology ornate book plates and a set of the foundation feet from HERE...
See you next month

Altered Canvas by Astrid

There is no doubt about it, collage is one of my all time favourite techniques and the Artistic Stampers stamps lend themselves so well for this.
Here is a list of the stamps I used for this project:
Postage 1
Ephemera 1
Chickenwire Background
Speckle 4 x 6
Journaling Words II
Time & Keys

I started by covering a canvas of 6 x 8 " with random bits of paper and strips of Wasi tape from my stash using Claudine Hellmuth Matte Medium. Next I covered it with a thin wash of Gesso I then stamped some images from the Ephemera 1 and Postage 1 plates on smooth white card in Black Archival Ink, coloured them with Vintage Photo Distress Inks, cut them out and also adhered them to the canvas in more or less random places. I also added a vintage photo from my stash

Next I added some texture paste through a couple of Dylusions Stencils and some background stamping with the Speckle and Chicken wire background stamps in Coffee Archival Ink. Then I  some wasi tape in carefully selected places to give a pleasing (I hope) composition to my collage. The next step was to cover the photo with a baby wipe and add a few spritzes of Perfect Pearls Mist in Patina Blue and Dylusions Spray in Melted Chocolate to add some more colour. It needed something more so I added some elements from the Time & Keys plate, stamped and cut out as before this time also adding some Broken China Distress Ink.

Now for the final step: I inked the edges with some Dark Brown chalk ink from my stash and then added some shading with a charcoal pencil to add more depth. I also added a tiny bit of white shading with a white pen on the photo to make it pop a bit more, added a charm and that was it.

Here are some detail pictures still

Hope you enjoyed this project and will give collage a go.
