Fabric book by Titbelsoeur

Hello everyone !
This month is all about distressing !
And my fabric book page is made of distressed stuff, such as old bed sheet, old dresses...

To make this page, I have used my gelli plate to make ghost prints of butterflies from Butterflies & Birds on to the piece of sheet :

and I have sewn the printed butterfly  :

on to pieces of old dresses, and then to the printed page :

Note Book By Gemma

Hi Everyone

 I covered a plain mini note book (7.5x10.5 CM), with fabric that I painted using stamps and Dylusions paints.

I used a sheet of adhesive backed fabric and scraped Dylusions, squeezed orange, fresh lime and vibrant turquoise paint  over the top in places using a card. I really tried to scrub and push the paint into the weave, so you could still see the weave through the paint.

Then using all the same colours of paint I stamped the square wire stamp, stamping both vertically and horizontally.

I then stamped over the top with calligraphy mat 11 using white dylusion paint.

I then stamped over the top, two different butterflies from the butterflies #2 plate, some of them did not stamp completely so I sketched over them with a black paint pen.

I cut the pages from the note book with a craft knife. Then recovered the cover by removing the backing from the self adhesive fabric, smoothed it in place on the front and then tucking it around  the sides, before I re-glued  the pages in place.

Fabric, again... by Titbelsoeur

Hello happy sewers... and the others !
I love to see fabric books but have always thought that I am not gifted at making some.
Maybe you remember the one I made 2 years ago, they are here :

And today I am doing it again, I love challenges ! And the November challenge at the Artistic Stamper being simply "fabric", I have started to make a new one. Quite different... fall colours... fall theme, for the moment...

You have seen the first page on the monthly challenge post, and here is a second one :

Just like I did on the other page, I have stitched fabric pieces and a half-zip all around the page, and stamped the Florence's Flowers stamp from Debbie Cotton, and the Free Your Soul words  from Donna's Stamps on the old bed sheet that supports the fabric sheets.

Fabric book pages: By Zuzu

I have been making a fabric book in the last few days,(you may have seen this cover on my blog) and I completed two pages using Artistic Stamper stamps (these two pages have not been shown elsewhere yet);  I used Katy Fox stamps to be precise. I used two different plates here. the main flower image, the text definitions, the insect and the butterfly are all from Encyclopaedia Botanica sheet and the little numbers are from the Numerical plate.  you can find both of them HERE.  

 

To make the definitions look like they were from an old book, i stained my fabric with antique linen distress stains. (appropriate really). I made sure it was dry before trying to stamp over it using stazon jet black. I did the same with the numbers but dabbed some of the colour back out using a baby wipe. it just helped with variety in colour depths on the page.

The piece of fabric I stamped the flowers on to was burned around the edges using a joss/incense stick (its safer than a naked flame and more controllable). i used watercolour pencils to add the colour. 

I used the little stamped out numbers on several pages throughout the book....

Edited to add: I do not have a sewing machine. this is hand stitched and also uses some fabric glue. just to clarify for those of you who think you cant do this project without a machine ;)

Ladies Album part 2 by Titbelsoeur

My last post was about this fabric book I made for the first time in my life. And I must admit I am pretty satisfied of the result, for a first attempt ! 

I have made all the pages the same way : randomly sewing pieces of fabric, AND on each page a Lady stamped on a small square of drawing paper.This was a good opportunity to play with my various stamps from the Artistic Stamper, faces and backgrounds !

First I stamped the lady's face, masked it, and then stamped over it. I have chosen to use Gibson Girls, but not only. I have also stamped more contemporary women, like Collage Art, Age Solid , Happy Girl or Kiki 

The various background stamps come from : Encyclopaedia Botanica, A Stitch in Time,
Numerical plate, Journaling Words, Time and Keys ...

The Fabric Of Time! by Nicky Cresswell

Morning peeps

Today I have a fun little project for you to try..

All your gonna need is some plain fabric, 

An assortment of watch face and gear stamps from the tick tock plate 

some archival ink pads {I used black and plum}

and a good pair of scissors {like Tim's}

{you will also need a needle and thread, I used wax linen thread but you can use anything, oh and a packet of Tim's accoutrements}

 Start by stamping your choosen fabric with a selection of the gears and watch faces

 Next cut them out

 Then your gonna want to pick some accoutrements that have this sort of backing to them, Mine are from the accoutrements fanciful set

Now your going to need to thread them in ascending order, largest at the bottom working your way up to the smallest.

Once your needle reaches the top, thread one of the accoutrements on, then go back down through the stack and tie tightly at the bottom.

And there you have it,  A fast fun fabric adornment you can add to a bag, apron, top or just wear as a brooch.

To make it so they weren't so flat

I tied a small piece of thread in-between each layer.
