A Fond Farewell...

Hello lovelies, Lisa here and here's to a happy new year for 2019. Wow - 2019!!!!
However, for me, the start of 2019 is slightly bitter sweet as I have decided to leave the team at The Artistic Stamper.

As the saying goes, "I've got a bit too much on my plate" to continue at the moment and there just isn't enough days in the week! So after having a chat with the lovely Jennie, she asked if I would do one last 'going-out' post for the team.

I have loved every minute being on the team and I will of course miss the fabulous ladies but I am sure I will continue to check in on the amazing creations they come up with.

So here is my last creation...

First, I stamped some pumice stone oxide and spun sugar oxide distress inks on to my craft mat, sprayed with water and smooshed white card through it.

I then used The Artistic Stamper 3 x 3 chevron stencil and the 3 x 3 harlequin stencil with the same oxide inks to add some pattern to the background.

I stamped two of the butterflies from The Artistic Stamper A5 insects and butterflies stamp set with grey ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder, fussy cut the butterflies and inked them with spun sugar oxide ink.

I stamped the Butterfly Words stamp on to white card, distressed the edges and inked the edges with spun sugar oxide ink. Then mounted it on to a bigger piece of card which I again distressed the edges and inked with pumice stone oxide ink.

To finish, I matted the background on to a bigger piece of card which I had inked around the edges with the grey oxide ink. I placed the sentiment on to the card then added the butterflies, just in the centre to allow the wings to stick up.

Thank you so much for popping by The Artistic Stamper blog today.
And hopefully, I will see you around blog land...

Gelli on a Plate

I don't know about you guys, but I have a mountain of gelli prints as high as Mount Kilimanjaro!!!, some I find too beautiful to even consider using, and especially cutting up, so I put them in a drawer and just get them out occasionally to stroke.... but the majority are just waiting for the right opportunity to use....but I didn't even use any of my stash for this months "Square it" challenge, I decided to make more gelli prints using a selection of The Artistic Stamper Masks and Stencils cut them into squares, added a sentiment from Paperartsy on one, and adhered them to my card, easy peasy, and a great way to use up your mountain of gelli prints..(if your'e not like me and decided to make even more!!!).

The stencils that I have used are;

I'm looking forward to your interpretation of our "Square It" challenge

More Of Jane's Gelli Fun

Hi Guys!!.. here is my next card for this months "stencils and masks" challenge...

If Like me, any of you have been following the fabulously talented Birgit Koopsen's 31 days of Gelli printing challenge, which is all about getting out your gelli plate and experimenting with different techniques, each day you are given a new subject to interpret as you wish, day 14 was all about tissue paper, so I got out my gelli plate, my ARTISTIC STAMPER MASKS AND STENCILS, and some tissue paper, and started making prints using the CHEVRON MASK, the LARGE SEQUIN WASTE MASK, the SMALL DOTS MASK, the HARLEQUIN MASK, and the ZIG ZAG MASK.

I then tore the pieces up into smaller pieces and glued them randomly onto my card...

Then I stencilled some glitter texture paste through the gorgeous DOG ROSE stencil...(no I haven't got tired of using it yet!!!,,lol)..then added some cerne relief as an ouline, and finally I heat embossed the word "Beauty" taken from the NUDES stamp set.

I do hope you will join in our challenge for this month which is all about "Stencils and Masks".

HeArt Art with a twist

Hi All

So we have got Valentines Day out of the way, and unless we are making cards etc for loved ones or the occasional wedding.  I know i tend not to bother too much about hearts.  However, we all like extra usage out of our stamps so here is alternative use, which I am sure some or all of you will have already thought of  - turn hearts into petals and make up a flower.

This was quite a simple canvas and came from an idea about using the three colours of Distress Paint which were sitting on my desk! Weathered Wood, Frayed Burlap and Victorian Velvet.  The three colours are all quite muted colours and as paints personally come into their own, working really well with each other.

I started off with a 12 x 12 canvas and added grunge paste through The Artistic Stamper Chevron 6x6 and Large Dot 6x6 Mask with Grunge Paste

Whilst i was waiting for the Grunge past to dry I stamped 8 of the large hearts from the Roses are Red Plate with Black Archival Ink onto Tim Holtz Grunge Paper

And then cut them out and painted with a quick coat of Gesso not quite sure why as I didn't really need to!!

And also stamped the Chinese Background stamp onto a piece of beige tissue paper again with Archival

Then painted stripes in Weathered Wood and Frayed Burlap overlapping as i went across

Whilst waiting for the stripes to dry I painted all of the hearts with the Victorian Velvet.  The paint comes out a beautiful dusky pink, far less muted than the Distress Ink

I then stamped each heart with the Dots Background A6 stamp using Victorian Velvet Distress Ink

I also went around the outside edge of each heart with Ground Espresso Ink

Using the Dots Background again i added some Victorian velvet paint and stamped some random dots directly onto the canvas, and also added some bottle top marks from the lids of the three colours

Ripped up pieces of the tissue I had stamped with Chinese script and added that to the canvas using Prima Soft Matt Gel

And added the heart petals to make the flower using Prima 3D Matt Gel This gel is absolutely amazing.  You can use it through stencil or as an ordinary glue however if you put a dollop of it onto a project it will stay raised so that you can add dimension really easily.  Plus it adheres pretty much everything including metal and it dries really quickly.  You do have time to move it but you do need to be quite quick if you do.

I stamped the lovely flourish from the Swirls Splats and Dots Plate onto white white tissue and carefully tore around the edge.  I also stamped Follow your dreams from  Journaling Words #1 onto a bit more of the beige tissue and added it onto a piece of cardboard and painted in Weathered Wood and Frayed Burlap but when mounting ensured the colours were the opposite of underneath!  Stuck down the tissue with the soft matt gel

I made three smaller hearts and coloured the same as the large ones however, this time i used Ground Espresso Ink to add the dots as well as to edge

Added a metal embellishment and a glass bead from my stash and there it is!
As always do let me know your thoughts good and bad, and don't forget to add your project to the blog, we do enjoy seeing what you have produced and you still have a few more days to go.

Happy Crafting Debs

Anything Goes Journal Page By Debs

Happy New Year everyone, Debs here with a slightly different Journal Page for you.

I used Dylusions paints In Vibrant Turqoise, Bubblegum Pink and Fresh Lime and a Ranger blending tool! I started with the Vibrant Turquoise.  Dylusions goes on really beautifully using a blending tool, giving a lovely smooth finish

Then Added some Bubblegum making sure to overlap with the Teal, because the teal is blue based when you put the pink over the top you get a nice shade of purple

Then I added in Lime overlapping the pink this creates an orangey effect because of the yellow in the lime.

I stamped Anything Goes across the middle with the Decay Alphabet Upper and lower case stamps  and black Archival Ink

And then using the Border Stamps in Archival went around each side of the page I used a piece of paper to mask off the edges so that the border lined up nicely

Once this was all done i used the blending tools to add some masking using the Splats and Swirls Mask using the same paints

Sorry the light wasn't terribly good on this one and I got carried away!!

After the paint had dried i used my white Uniball Signo white pen to go around the outside of everything on the page including the letters, I also went over the border with a black marker to make it more prominent.

Now this was where i got really carried away and I am really sorry but the photo taking went out of the window.  Next i took Chevron 6x6 Mask and using a black micron pen i drew around all of the lines, using the mask as a template.

Once i had completed the whole of the mask I then took out the white pen and doodled in each line as you can see, white dots in the thinner rows and loops in the wider.  I also used a dot stencil and added circles around the outside edge and then drew white lines in each of them.  I also added black dots to the splats and swirls, using the micron pen.

As always do let us know what you think, we do read all of your comments
Take care Debs
