Birthday card, by Titbelsoeur

Hello everyone, this is Tibelsoeur here today, sharing with you a birthday card.

Here is the background, I made it with the 5x3 gelli plate, acrylics and Honeycomb Background stamp
Then I stamped the Encyclopaedia Botanica page with black archival, and the butterfly with Distress ink highlighted with watercolor pen :

The sentiment was stamped with watercolor pens and added to the background :

Lots of love, by Titbelsoeur

Hello, Happy Crafters, and happy new year to you and people you love !

I have made these 2 cards with Gelatos, on the "red" one I have stamped the "empty" Lesley's flower with black Archival ink and colored it with Promarkers, then I colored the "full" flower with Gelatos, spritzed it and stamped it all around the card. Then I stamped the sentiment with Plum Archival ink.

I made the "blue" card differently : I first colored the background with Gelatos and diluted it with water, then I stamped the flowers and colored them with Promarkers, and to end I stamped the sentiment and the butterfly with black Archival ink, and added lines and circles with black acrylic paint on caps and credit card.

Here are the stamps I used to make these 2 cards :
Lesley's Flowers in New Stamps
"Lots of love" from Grungy Greetings #1 in Words and sayings
Butterfly from Encyclopaedia Botanica in Katy Leitch

Summer time !

Hello happy crafters !
Summer is on its way, and it feels good ! and it is the theme of this month challenge !
For those who are looking for inspiration to play with us, I have made this card

using the following Artistic Stamper's stuff :

First I have colored the background with acrylic paint and distress ink through
the Flowers & Leaves long mask
When I felt it was colored enough, I have stamped
Flutterby
flowers from Encyclopaedia Botanica and Botanical 2
and then the sentiment from Journaling Words 3
And at the end I have bordered butterflies, words and some flowers with white gel pen.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
your comments are very much appreciated.
I hope you will participate in our June challenge
to win some fabulous Artistic Stamper stamps.

Art journal page project

Hello happy journalers !
Do you like art journaling ? I hope so, since our May challenge is  Journaling your heART out!
For those of you who are not at ease with art journaling, I will share this project with you. I got inspiration from Tracy Scott's art.

Materials :
paper or cardboard
acrylic paint
white gesso
black Archival ink
Artistic Stamper Mask : Large Dot
Artistic Stamper stamps :
Backgrounds : Hessian, Cogs,
Katy Leitch : Messy Art, Encyclopaedia Botanica
Seaside : Seaside No. 1 # 018
Neil Walker : Alphabet Soup

Start by painting the page with yellow, green and pink acrylics, and then stencil the large dots with gesso :

Stamp Dots Background with gesso and Hessian with black Archival :

Stamp Hessian, Cogs and Messy with black Archival, and again Dots Background with gesso on other places :

Draw circles with black acrylic paint on a thin brush, let it drip here and there, allow it to dry and then fill the circles with acrylic paints.
Create shadows around the circles with paint or charcoal :

Stamp Alphabet soup with white acrylic, and with black Archival ink blots (from the Messy Art plate) and text (from the Encyclopaedia Botanica one) into the circles :

And here is the final page. Since my pictures from Gil Bruvel were relating to the sea world, I have finished by stamping some shells and starfishs :

Once you’re done with your art journal page, you can post it here to participate in our May challenge to win some fabulous Artistic Stamper stamps !

...lightness and transparency...

Hello everyone!

It's Maria Potapovich (mellpellmell) is here for you today ;)

Today I will show you a card that I wanted to do for a long time.

The point is mixed media style pay very much attention to the layers. But in this style  artists generally use layers of different materials and medias.

And I wanted to make a card using the translucent layers of tracing paper.

Let's see.

I wanted to achieve the effect of lightness and transparency.
For this I used the white tracing paper, stamping pad were taken not black, but the color of licorice, and also pale blue letters for the label.

Here are only three layers and letters. As you can see some lower layers climbs out of the edges of the upper layers.

This card does not correspond to the style of "clean and simple", but that's how it would be desirable to describe!

I've used the Encyclopaedia Botanica stamps set

I hope you enjoyed this technique! Perhaps you also want to try to make a card with layers of tracing paper ...

I am sure that they will be easy and beautiful!

Have fun!

Butterflies in my head

Spring hurry, hurry to come faster...

The sun begins to burn brighter and hotter, the sky turns blue and the birds build their nests in full ...

What else can be in your head?

Only butterflies!

Hi, it's me, Maria Potapovich (mellpellmell) here for you today.

Early spring sadness often torturing me - and I'm always looking for ways to cheer up a bit.

This time I made a motivator - the picture with butterflies.

It will hang on my wall just above the computer screen)))))

Side view is better seen that butterflies are going to fly right now!

I've used the Encyclopaedia Botanica Size A5 for the butterflies

I hope this spring, you have a good mood, isn't it?

Butterflies on my page...

Hello there, this is Titbelsoeur today sharing an art journal page with you.

First, I have distressed the page with Brushed Corduroy, then glued a very old school book page on it :

I made my own masking tapes, stamping cogs and watches background stamps on to a piece of tape :

and sticked them to my page, adding a piece of a used tea bag :

A coat of gesso, then I stamped Treillis and Dots backgrounds and added brown shadows here and there with a watercolor chalk and a wet paintbrush :

Then I stamped butterflies on to the background with water-based ink and made them a bit blur in adding some water with a paintbrush which also spread the watercolor below :

I did the same with the central butterfly I stamped on a white paper, slightly blured and cut out :

And here is my page :

Here are the stamps I used :
Butterflies
Encyclopaedia Botanica
Treillis Background
Watches Background
Dots Background
Cogs Background

Watercolor fruit cards

Hi, it's me, Maria Potapovich (mellpellmell) here for you today.

As you know I like to use stamps not in scrapbooking or cardmaking (in the classic sense).

But I like to add stamps to my watercolors.

Sometimes the work looks unfinished, but I do not know what to do ...
Then the simplest solution might be to add a background stamp.
Here's the truth!

Be sure of it )))))

Don't you think it's too simple?
And now you can see the same picture, but with a slight modification - I added two stamps.

And here's another one the same:

And with the added stamps:

I believe that you can see everything without my words and explanations)))))

By the way, here stamps that I have added:

Have a good day ;)

Guess what...

... the background of my card is made of...

Actually, Jennibellie showed us the technique on her forum, and I had a try (just like I try all weird techniques I view !). You just want to take 4 or 5 kitchen roll used sheets, glue 2 of them together, then another one on top of it and one or 2 again. The glue must completely wet the towels, thus you either want to use your home-made glue (with rice or flour), or add the same volume of water to your glue and mix.
Once dry, here are your sheets, all different and unique :

Now you want to stamp on the sheets :
Handstamped

outlined with white pen to highlight the stamped images

And then I stamped the
Grungy Greetings #1
on to a watercolor paper

And Grungy Greetings #1   on to school book pages I glued on the inside of the card for the sender to write down some sentiment !

Please let me know whether this technique did interest you, I am looking forward to reading from you ! And don't forget to participate in the Artistic Stamper monthly challenge... talking about memories !
See you !

Coz I luv U...

Hello messarounders, this is Titbelsoeur here showing you my very last card, with lots of love !

This love quote, stamped on a paper mat, should disconcert you... yes, you are not used to see me doing shabby things with lace and wet-eyed kitten pictures...
But I love to mix styles that don't fit together...
that is why I have first stamped backgrounds on a leftover page, for a grunge look :

Sequin Waste open and Dots Background :

 Dance Dictionary Background

And I have added this mat, stamped with lots of love from the Grungy Greetings #1 plate

But my card looked quite nude with only this stamped mat... then I stamped the spring flowers from the Encyclopaedia Botanica  plate on to a book page, I cut it out and colored it lightly with watercolor chalks :

And tadammmm, here is my love card for Spring :

I would be very happy if my card does inspire you,
thank you so much for stopping by,
I am looking forward to reading your comments !

A tout bientôt,

And if you want to remind of the 70's luv songs, just pop up to my blog... ;-)
