Heart Tags by Gemma

I have a set of tags to share with you all today, decorated with circles, hearts, and doodles.

STEPS

I started off by applying Distress Inks and Oxides to some pre-made small tags.

I stamped over the tag with a script stamp and a small squiggly stamp for texture.

I stamped over the top with different sized circles and swirls. I made sure to overlap the circles and to stamp some of the images off the side of the tags.

I then stamped and coloured a few hearts with Distress Ink, before gluing them to the tags and adding extra interest with black and white pens.

Mini Notebook by Gemma Hynes

I have a sweet little 4x4 notebook to share with you all today, There is something I really enjoy about the process of making books of any kind. The mix between the precise measurements of the book construction and the messy relaxed decoration that comes after.

 Steps

I brushed layers of Haystack and Granny Smith PaperArtsy paints over 4x4 bits of board that are the covers of my book. When layering I made sure the paints were still wet so the colors would blend easily together.

Over the top, I stamped a calligraphy mat with caramel paint, When I stamp I try to roll the stamp from one side to the other so I get an incomplete print.

Over that, I stamped the honeycomb background stamp with Slate paint, still rolling not pressing the whole stamp down for an incomplete print.

I painted a little chipboard bird from my stash blue and stamped the word Hugs from the greeting stamps set in black Archival Ink.

I also painted two little hearts from my stash in red before stamping over the top with the Chicken Wire background stamp.  When everything was dry I wrapped some string around the covers and glued the hearts into place.

I then painted some white duct tape blue and used that to bind the covers together before gluing the bird to the front cover. To finish the book off I added some elastic for a closure and attached the pages to the inside.

My Little Book of Love by Gemma

I have created a little accordion book to share with you all today. I love how cute and colourful it turned out with those little splashes of orange against the red, and it had so much space inside for little pictures and messages for the special person in my life.

How to

1- Spread Distress Oxides on your craft mat and spray with water
2- Press a large sheet of cardstock into the ink puddles. Drying between layers keep going until the card is mostly covered and you are happy with the look.

3- Using the same colours stamp over the top with different stamps and stencils.

4- Add extra details by stamping over the top with black and white acrylic paints.

5- Cut the cardstock into strips and score them to create the valley and mountain folds, and glue them together.

6- Cut two pieces of kraft card for the front and back covers and ink the edges
7- Decorate the covers by cutting white card to fit the covers and inking them with Distress Oxides.

8- Stamp some hearts onto leftover bits from the large sheet of cardstock you created for the inside and cut them out
9- Stamp out some text on kraft card and then glue all the elements together, add some string for the closure.

Winged Heart by Gemma

I have a small piece to share with you today, made on a  chipboard base. later I will use it as the front of a book.

I collected some bits and pieces from my stash that I felt went well together.

I coated everything with a layer of gesso and then I painted the wings, heart and board with different colours of Dylusions paint.

Once those layers were dry. I stamped onto the orange piece with the large dotty background stamp and Versa Mark ink. I then sprinkled black embossing powder over the top and melted it using a heat tool, I also heat embossed the word peace with the same black embossing powder. At the same time, I glued a small bit of dried wet wipe behind the heart.

Before glueing all the pieces together I painted the small bird, edged it with gold and stamped the word smile in the middle from Framed Words #1. I also stamped onto the wings with a calligraphy mat and paint.

Paint and Hearts Birthday card by Gemma

I created this 20 x 20 cms card and coordinating gift box and card box, using PaperArtsy paints, stamps and masks from The Artistic Stamper

I cut a piece of white card to fit the front of my card blank, which I ran through my cutting machine using mixed media dies. I then applied some texture paste in places through the honeycomb mask.

After coating the card with a layer of Gesso, I added China and Captain Peacock PaperArtsy paints over the top mixing it in with the Gesso. I dry brushed over the top with the same colours to highlight the areas covered with texture paste.

I stamped over the top with different stamps and colours, I used the honeycomb stamp and Tinned Peas paint.  Calligraphy mat 12 with Captin Peacock and Calligraphy Mat 11 and Gesso.

Once I was happy with the background and had glued it to the card front. I started working on and glueing embellishments on top. I took some cardboard hearts from my stash coated then with Tinned Peas paint, stamped over the top with Calligraphy Mat 11 and edged them with gilding wax.

All of the other embellishments came from my stash they were painted with the same paints with the addition of Haystack and stamped with the same two Calligraphy Mats.

Thanks for stopping by and reading, I have loved seeing all the challenge entries thin months and can not wait to see what you talented bunch create next month.

Heart Cards by Gemma

I have two small 4 x4 inch cards to share with you all today,
using the mini heart stamp designed by Neil Walker.

I cut two pieces of card to fit onto the 4x4 inch card blanks, On the first, I stamped the mini heart in the left bottom section of the paper, and heat embossed it with black embossing powder.

I then sprayed over the top with red, green and yellow/gold sprays. I sprayed lightly making sure not to cover the whole paper. I wanted lots of white space left.

Once dry I drew in a very rustic figure balancing the heart on their hand, using the same pen I doodled around the edge of the paper before adding some more doodles with a silver and white paint pen. before glueing to the card blank I added some washi tape.

On the second piece of paper, I stamped three of the mini hearts, I stamped these so that they overhung the edges of the paper and then I heat embossed them with black embossing powder.

Using the same three sprays as before, I sprayed lightly to leave lots of white space I also unscrewed the tops from the bottles and dropped the ink onto the paper.

I added some washi tape to the paper and doodled around the edges. On a separate piece of paper, I stamped and embossed an extra heart that I cut out and glued onto the front of the paper. before glueing the paper to the card blank I added some more doodles and dots with white and silver paint pens.

Valentine by Lesley MacKenzie

Hi all,

For this months  challenge I have created a Valentines card. I have to be honest and say it started life as a tag, but as I continued to work on it  was too nice not to use on a card, so in the true spirit of all crafters a ''happy accident '' turned it into a card for my Hubby (don't tell him ) .

The products used this month are:
Artistic Stamper stamps - Essential Hearts and Mini Backgrounds 2# and 3#
Distress Inks - Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron
Archival Ink - Vibrant Fuchsia
Black embossing pen, ink and powder
Glossy Accents
Crackle Accents
Sepia Accents
Black Twine
Beads
Odd gems

Step 1:  I stamp distress ink onto my work mat and spritz with water then place the tag face down and swirl into the inks

Step 2 - Next I splash drops of water onto the tag and mop with paper towel before drying, to create extra texture, I then stamped the 3 small hearts in black embossing ink and embossed in black . I also edged the tag with embossing ink and embossed with black embossing powder.

Step 3  - On a separate sheet of white card I stamped with the Fuchsia Archival Ink using the Mini Background stamps. I then stamped the hearts using black embossing ink and embossed them. I cut them out .

Step 4 - I fixed the hearts to the tag using foam pads. I added black twine to give the effect of tied stems. I used a different Accent medium on each if the hearts  and embellished with beads and gems. I stamped the text and embossed in black.

Step 7 - On a white 6'' x 6'' card using an embossing pen I created a border around the card and embossed in black , I mounted the tag onto the card and trimmed the excess in the corners .

The end results is crisp and clean looking, with lots of texture using vibrant colours. Hope you like, until next time Happy Valentines Day!
