Photo Frame by Debs

Hi All

Debs here!  With something a little different for me.  I picked up a plain photo frame from The Artistic Stamper and decided to transform it! Let me know what you think I would love to hear your views on what you think.

Sorry the picture isn't great it was a bit wet outside today and the light inside wasn't great either!

Take one blank frame

Add some grunge paste through the swirls stencil

Get a Jamboree bag from The Artistic Stamper and adhere bits and pieces around the frame, the jamboree bags are full of hidden treasure

Using My Melt pot i mixed up some UTEE and poured it onto a heat proof craft mat and using a cog from the Tick Tock stamp set inked up with versa mark I stamped into the melted UTEE

then made a smaller one

I used the cooled down UTEE as a mild and using paper clay made some solid cogs

Trimmed down

I also cut out the middle of the large cog

Added the large cog over the top of the bits in the bottom left corner

Added the smaller one on top

I had also used another stamp in the UTEE which was Smile from the journaling words 4 which unfortunately you can't really see in this photo but its in the top right hand corner.  Once all the elements were stuck down i covered everything in black gesso.

Then I mixed some blue and green mica powders with gel medium and then covered the whole thing using the coloured gel medium as a paint!

Once that had dried I then got out some sliver gilding wax and just rubbed on the raised surfaces just to give it all a highlight

Here it is all complete and standing upright with its stand attached.  Now you can see the Smile.  Everything used in this project is available in the shop and online.

Do let me know what you think either on here or on the Facebook page.

Hello! canvas by Debs

Hi All

Hope you are all having fun with this months challenge, as canvas is a type of fabric (well sort of)  I decided to use the new stamps just released from The Artistic Stamper.

I took  a canvas and drew a face on it with a pencil, i didn't worry about shaping the face or adding hair just eyes, nose and a mouth.

Out came the Dylusions paints and using my finger added Squeezed Orange and Bubblegum Pink to the canvas

cover the whole canvas adding some light bits of Squeezed Orange across the facial area.

Then I added a touch more Bubblegum Pink and some Vibrant Turquoise, especially around the edges

Then covered it all with a light coat of White Linen to knock it bad a bit and soften it down, as Dylusions paints are translucent its will always pick up the colour underneath it.  I added some black to outline the eyes and a bit around the nose but try and make this a tad lighter and outlined the lips in Pink

Added some blue and white to the eyes now we have the face appearing

Next I stamped the new Lesleys Flowers (these are the same flowers as we had on the stencils and the plate comes with both outline and block filled flowers I used the outline one and stamped around the face

I also stamped one of the bees from the new Honeycomb and bees plate  the detail on these Bees is quite stunning i have used the smaller bee and stuck it to the canvas.

Then i started to paint all of the flowers and leaves white

As you can see from this one the white paint has picked up the colour from underneath.  At this point i decided that it needed another dimension

I painted some white tissue with some white linen paint and once dried stamped some more of the flowers on

with these flowers i mixed some white with a touch of pink to give a subtle hue and added some orange and a bit of yellow to the centre and cut them out

Stuck them onto the canvas adding some colour to the original flowers and painting over the eyes with a touch of white to lighten them stamped a couple of the smaller flowers and painted them light pink using a similar mix as before.  I also added a touch of white to the mouth.

I then took out a tiny blob of orange (sorry the photo is a bit blurred but its quite hard taking a photo of your right hand with your left lol)  and then used this blob to ink up the honeycomb stamp and stamped it onto a piece of card and did the same thing in pink although I forgot to take of photo

To finish i stamped hello from the Journaling Words 4 plate in black Archival ink and cut it down. I  also painted another piece of card in the turquoise and cut it to be a little larger than the honeycomb piece and stuck it underneath.  Then placed this onto the canvas.

Sorry about the lengthy step out.
As always we really do look forward to viewing your creations so do keep them coming and we also appreciate any comments good or bad you may have on our projects so do let us know what you think.  Thanks for stopping by

Hello Hanging

Hi All,

Debs here with a small wall hanging. Journaling doesn't have to be in a book, it can be on any surface you want it to be, and I was perusing around The Artistic Stamper, picking up some of the new Dylusions Paints - which are just amazing, if you haven't already tried them, you really should!! When I saw this little hanging board, it jumped into my basket honest it really jumped!! Here is what happened when I quite literally had a "light bulb moment"!!!
Take one Papier Mache Hanging

Paint some gesso to cover

With a brayed lightly add Postbox Red Dylusions paint, ensuring you start at an edge makes things easier and work the brayer in all directions

Followed by Lemon Zest Yellow Dylusions

Followed by London Blue

Followed by Fresh Lime

Using white Dylusions paint stamp using the new "Decay" stamps from The Artistic Stamper, I used my finger to apply the paint to the stamp, which worked quite well.

Then I added some random stamping with Archival Jet black, and then stamped and embossed the large light bulb stamp, added some yellow paint round the inside edge.  Added the hello stamp from the Jounaling words 4 Set. I decided to try out the new Ranger embossing dabber to make the light bulb 'shine'.  Popped some Distress paint in pewter to the bayonet.  Then added some white pen to the dotty border stamp and the New Decay spiral.

Masculine project with Franswar Stamp

Hello Everyone, Shilpa here today,  with masculine project.
Artistic Stamper has a very good collection of Masculine stamps and today my main character is 'Franswar' designed by Neil Walker.

And this is how I  started off

On a gesso treated white card stock, I applied Antique linen, Old paper and Scattered straw distress paints. Spritzed water to get even layer. Dried it with my heat tool and gave another layer of DP.
Stamped randomly with Small bingo card and Coffee Archival Ink.
Next layer was with Pine needles DI and Crafters workshop Specimen stencil.

After this, I stamped  Franswar image stamp with Jet black Archival ink. At the edges stamped with cogs  border stamps. Artistic stamper's Watches set is wonderful set of different varieties of watch images. At the corner, in the picture , you can see the side view watch image, which is a unique stamp, I have not seen similar before.

This is another watch in same stamp set.
Then, I applied Antique linen, Tea dye and Pine needles DI at the edges.
Adhered wood veneer Scale at the bottom of the piece. It has colored with DI.
The word 'believe' is from Journaling words # 4
And finally I adhered the whole panel on another pattern paper from DCVW.

Hope you liked my masculine project.
Do check Artistic stamper store for amazing stamp collection.

Thanks so much for your visit today.
