Altered Art Journal Cover

Hello Everyone,
Shilpa here,

I love to play in my art journal and every now and then I start new journal with different sizes.
Today, I've altered the journal cover which had black cover, I turned it into Shabby chic.
Let's have a look...

I've used Artistic Stamper Blossoms Large stamp.

I first adhered Ranger Sticky back canvas to my art journal cover. Next I applied Spun sugar and Victorian Velvet distress paints on the surface. I dried it completely with Heat Tool. For text in the background I used  Artistic stamper Calligraphy Mat 13 and Tea Rose Archival Ink.

I created layers with Doily, Tag, lace, gauze and design paper.

At the right bottom corner I added ribbon bow and flowers.

I stamped this beautiful Blossoms large on watercolor paper with Coffee Archival ink and colored with Distress Paints and inks.

Hope you liked my today's Pink project!! Do let me know... :)

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Not Just An Ordinary Jam Jar by Debs

Hi All

Hope you are all enjoying the sun.  I thought I would show you a stamped and decorated Jam Jar for this post

I started by pouring some Fresco Finish paint into the jam jar, i used two colours (vanilla and tangerine) and swilled it around until the inside was completely covered. With the paint that was left over after tipping out the excess.  I painted the lid and two journal pages - think I may have put a tad too much in!!

Once the jar was dry inside, I inked up The Artistic Stamper swirls stamp with Teal Stazon.  I then  rolled the jar across the stamp,  rather than stamping onto the jar, this way it eliminated any slippage.  Whilst Stazon does dry quickly I did leave it to dry properly, so that it wouldn't smudge.  When it was dry I then took The Artistic Stamper daisy stencil and wrapped it around the jar, holding it as tightly as I could, I pushed grunge paste through and left it to dry.  Whilst waiting for it to dry I stamped butterflies from the butterfly set that was recently released onto shrink plastic with teal Stazon. I stamped four different ones for the middle and then three all of the same for the lid, coloured them in, cut them out and then heated the shrink plastic with heat gun to shrink.

To get the butterflies to stick together on the lid once they were coloured and shrunk I re-heated the edges and once warmed up added glossy accents and held until they fused together.  Whilst waiting for the butterflies to fuse I painted the grunge paste daisies orange around the jar and on the lid.

Close up of lid

Thanks for joining in the fun and don't forget there is still a few days left to show us your creations.  We really would love to see them.

Thanks for looking

A Swirl Of Colour

Hi everyone I feel like summer is here as I have just returned from Corfu.
I must say I fell in love with it and would Love to live
there  (a dream me thinks!!!).
Back to the real world I have for you today a
butterfly and texture plaque.

I started by colouring a tag with Adirondack colour
wash which I then sprayed with water.

I put clear texture paste through the Swirl mask.

Once dry I cut out a strip and placed it across the middle
I sealed the whole thing with Matt sealer.

Next I used antiquing cream to highlight the swirls or you could use
acrylic paint and just before its dry knock
it back with a baby wipe.

A close up

I stamped the butterfly x2 off the insect plate onto some extra card
that had been coloured the same way as the main plaque.

I used versa fine black ink and clear embossed the butterfly
this got antiquated as well

Round the edges I used crackle paste and allowed to dry.

I used a torn page to go across the middle strip which
i coloured with spiced marmalade distress ink.

The crackle paste was painted with acrylic paint to match it in.
I triple embossed create stamp and cut out
the letters to form the art.

To finish off I highlighted it all with gilding wax.
Thank you for popping by & don't forget to
let me know what you think.
Cheers Dee x

Hello Mr Postman !

And hello you Happy Crafters !
Since Summer is still on its way, I have made my second project for June to help you participate in the June challenge if you miss inspiration... and at the same time make your postman's day !

Always have 2 or 3 blank envelopes on your craft table to wipe your leftover paint or ink on stencils or stamps.

After using the Marbled 2 Background stamp with Broken China Distress ink, spray it up with water and wipe it on your envelope :

This will create a blurred wavy background. Let it dry.

Then you can stamp the Cogs Background here and there on the edges to leave room for the name and address, with Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire

And stamp the wheel from the Seaside No. 1 # 018 plate with Cobalt Archival

Also you may stamp the tag from the Labels A6 plate just to help write name and address.

The Special Delivery stamp comes from the Carte Postale size A5 © Katy Fox plate
the seashell stamps come from the  Seaside No. 1 # 018 plate

Thanks so much for stopping by,
your comments are very much appreciated.
I hope you will participate in our June challenge
to win some fabulous Artistic Stamper stamps.

Golden Flourish's

Hi everyone hope you are all well! I have for you today
a tag which  falls into the Challenge title which is
'Summer is on its way'. Why not play along
with us this month.

My tag today has been created by using the following Artistic
Stamper Stamps, Flourish background, insects and
 butterflies & calligraphy mat 12.

I used the thinlets die to cut the shapes into a craft tag.
I had coloured a piece of card with adirondack washes
then sprayed lightly with water to blend.

Next I tripple embossed using two coats of gold embossing powders
and one of clear utee. I then stamped the flourish
stamp into the hot embossing powder.

I coloured the die cut craft tag with distress ink which I blended
of the craft mat.  I spritzed with water to activate it.

Next I sprinkled gold embossing powder over it and heat set
from underneath to stop it blowing away.

I sprayed gently picket fence distress stain spray over that.

I used the same method to make the butterfly but I stamped it twice
and then built the butterfly up. Alcohol ink was
applied till I was happy
with the result.

Next I used glossy accents in the die cuts to highlight area's prior
to it drying fully I lightly sprinkled gold embossing
 powder & heat set.

I matted it to lime green card then black I hope you have all
enjoyed my post today and feel inspired to join
with us this month in our challenge.
As always I would love to know
what you think.
Cheers Dee x
