Autumn jar by Titbelsoeur

The Artistic Stamper was granted an article in the November issue of the Craft Stamper magazine. For this occasion, we the CT made projects about Autumn.
Mine may be named "Autumn in a Jar". It may also meet the Mix-it-up challenge, since I have gathered into it various grasses from my garden, and watercoloured stamped Mushrooms A5 Plate © Tit Belsoeur and planted all on flower foam.

I hope this project gives you inspiration to participate in our

Pop Up Posie by Lesley

Hi Everyone,

Todays project is creating this lovely 3D pop-up jar of flowers, that will fold flat for posting.

Items used are :
Double sided patterned paper card stock for the jars
Double sided coloured card stock for the flowers and leaves
Artistic Stamper stamps -  Flower Power and Inspiration Jars
Black embossing ink and powder
Twine

1. Stamp and emboss 4 jars onto the coloured cardstock leaving space to add a tab on one side of each jar before cutting out.

3.  Cut out all 4 jars remembering to include the added tab on the right side of each jar. Using double sided tape/glue on the tabs attach each jar to the next . I find its easiest to lay them flat and fold the creases before attaching the final 2 jars to make the 3D shape.

4. Using the same patterned cardstock cut 3 strips the width of the jar allowing  0.5cm flap on each end and fold the flaps in. Attach the strips inside the jar at the top. This makes a fixing point for the flowers, stems and leaves. Its fiddly to do and I find quick grab wet glue the best for this job.

5. Stamp and emboss flowers and leaves from the plain coloured card. You will need 7 flower heads,  you can mix 'n' match the sizes and colours to suit yourself. Cut strips of the green card to make stems(I doubled up the card stock for extra strength). Attach the flowers and leaves to the stems.

6. Attach the stems to the 3 strips inside the jars, again wet glue is easiest and I fasten with a paper clip until dry to stop them moving. Vary the heights to create an arrangement and embellish as you like, I've added coloured twine to the top of the jar. The Jar will fold flat to enable you to place in an envelope.

Have fun, hope you enjoy making this effective card...let your creative inspiration loose!

If Friends were.........by Debs

Hi Everyone

I must say i am really enjoying playing with the new Distress Oxide inks.  They are just so lovely to use and because they are an Opaque ink, you can achieve some lovely effects.

the only problem with this card, was the fact that i was having so much fun playing that it was only when i had finished that i realised i hadn't taken any photos expect for the very first stage
The background was done with Broken China and Iced Spruce, using the wrinkle free distress method, they really do layer so nicely providing you dry between each layer.

After this layer was dry i added one of the Inspiration Jars direct to the background, and then using post it note to mask off the jar, i then stamped in Sunflowers by Lesley Matthewson then using another piece of post it and stamping with the sunflower made another mask and re-stamped the sunflowers a couple more times.  I painted the flowers using spiced marmalade and peeled paint, and kept layering and drying until i was haps with the colours.  I then lightly stamped the new Neil Walker web stamp, and edged over the top with more spiced marmalade.  Used a piece of scrap card with spiced marmalade on to stamp the phrase from the Botanicals plate.
Hope you have a crafty weekend

Take care
Debs

He[art] Journal page by Ttibelsoeur

Hello happy Journalers, how are you doing ?
It was great to use these Artistic Stamper stamps to make a new art journal page.

The page was not blank in first place : I have gathered many monoprinted pages to make a new art journal. Hence the first layer, gelliprinted with Bamboo Open Texture Mat C156 © CaroLines
The second layer was made with the new Mini background stamps and assorted Distress inks. Then I stamped Decay forms and steampunk border from Borders A5 2 on the edges with black Archival ink. Some white marks made with white acrylic paint on bottle caps, and the background was done.

Then I stamped the 2 Inspiration Jars with black Archival Ink on a separate drawing paper, already colored with Distress Ink Pads (Mustard seed, Spiced Marmalade and Broken China), I added the new Mini Heart © Neil Walker on the blank jar, highlighted some details with a white pen, cut both out and glued both on my page.

I was just missing a title 😅... easy peasy, found it in the Journaling section !

Mushrooms again, by Titbelsoeur

Hello Happy Crafters !
Titbelsoeur today showing you my last project : mushrooms in a globe...
which is a stewed fruit jar I have put upside down
filled with small wood bits and dead leaves
and watercolored mushrooms

Birch barks are very useful to frame and hide the cap
and very easy to glue.

I hope you all like my mushrooms !

Collect Moments by france papillon

Hi all,
It's with a sad heart that i'm writing here for the last time. To cheer this moment up a bit, a made an art journal page, with a wording that is right up to the situation me thinks ;)

I played in my mini Moleskine Sketchbook, which i use to wipe up excess paint and ink. As you can see, this page had already quite some layers: acrylic paint and several left overs from a dictionary page used for decoupage.
I added some more turquoise acrylic and Decopatch glue to seal everything.
I stamped the Inspiration Jars: the plain one in Jet Black Archival ink on kraft cardstock colorized with Peacock Feather and Rusty Hinge Distress ink, the empty one in Black Staz'On on Wendy Vecchi's Clearly for Art. I trimmed both. I also prepared the big dragon fly from the Insects and Butterflies stamp set with Black Tuxedo Memento ink and colorized it with Copic markers.
I assembled the layers from the jars, placing the dragon fly in between them and glued it in my journal, placing it on Tim Holtz tissue tape. To glue the clear one, I used Matt Accents. I stamped a word from the Carte Postale on PaperArtsy Smoothy paper and colorized it with Vintage Photo Distress ink so that i had a label for the jars.
I added black lace on the sides and layered cambric and Tim Holtz tissue tape underneath the wording that i printed out. I stamped the little butterlfy from the Insects and Butterfly stamp set on PaperArtsy Smoothy paper and colorized it with Copic markers. To avoid having to trim too many details, i stamp the original image directly in my journal and glue the trimmed images on top of it. I also added a word from the Carte Postale set as a label on the jars and the post stamp as back ground.

That's me signing off.
I wanted to thank you all lovely peeps here at Artistic Stamper and especially Emma and Jennie for giving me moments to collect.

Much love,

france

Thinking of you on Halloween

Hello everyone, this is Astrid here with a little Halloween project, - a tag in two parts:
Now I love Halloween and Halloween projects, but for some reason I don't own many Halloween stamps, so this was a bit of a challenge for me, but hey ho, nothing like being creative with what you have....
These are the stamps and products I used.

Stamps used:
Inspiration Jars
Travel Labels
Grungy Greetings
Katie Fox Leaves
Other products
Tim Holtz Embossing Folder Eiffeltower and French script
Distress Paints: Antique Linen, Weathered Wood, Bundled Sage
Distress Ink: Gathered Twigs, Vintage Linen and Bundled Sage, Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey, Aged Mahogany
Archival Ink: Potting Soil
From my stash
Prima Mixed Media tag
Sizzix Difuser
String
Brown pen
Seam Binding
Graphic 45 Happy Haunting collection
A few embellishments and some seam binding
Hole punch and eyelets

I started by cutting a Prima Mixed media tag from my stash into two parts and then ran the top part through the Tim Holtz script embossing folder with one of the diffusers to give me an un-embossed part in the middle. I then coloured it with my three chosen colours of Distress paints by adding them to my craft sheet and then swiping the tag through it until I was happy with the result. I then added some Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and Archival Ink in Potting Soil around the edges.
Next I stamped one of the jars and one of the labels onto smooth stamping card with Potting Soil Archival Ink, coloured them with my chosen colours of Distress Ink and adhered them together. I tied a bit of string and a tiny label, made with some bits and pieces from my stash around the neck of the stamped jar and then adhered it to the tag.
At this point it looked a bit dull and not very Halloween like somehow. So a little fussy cut witch image from an old Graphics 45 collection came to the rescue. The Artistic stamper does not stock this one, but you can find the fabulous Steampunk Spells one HERE.

For the bottom part of the tag I stamped a sentiment from the new Grungy Greetings set in Potting Soil Archival
Next I punched some holes, set some eyelets and attached the two parts of the tag together with some string as you can see from the photo.

A bit more colour was added by stamping two leaves from the new Katie Fox set in Potting Soil and colouring with Distress Inks. A ribbon and little button finished it all off.

Well hope you like my little Halloween project. And don't forget, if you have not entered our challenge yet, there is still plenty of time to do so!! To see the deets just click HERE

Thank you for visiting and see you next time!
