Tick Tock Birthday Card by Debs Smith

Happy New Year everyone

I have done a birthday card for you today! Its nice and bright and cheerful to take my mind off the miserable grey weather we have here at the moment!

The background is brayered and to see how i achieved the look read on.  The flowers and the sentiment were stamped on a mop up sheet.

I started with a piece of white card and bartered a small amount of Fresco Finish Mahogany to cover the card

I then applied Terracotta and Tangerine Twist over the top of the Mahogany.  At this point i wasn't quite sure if it was quite the colour i was looking for so i took the Snowflake

and covered the whole thing with white to knock the colour back a tad
I then added Bouganvilla over the top of the white in places and it was starting looking so much brighter
I had used a spare piece of card to mop up the excess paint with some water expecting to put it in my stash for future use.  I have just noticed a red indian in the paint  wish i had seen it before!!

I then stamped tick tock flowers with black Archival onto the mop up sheet and cut them out using two of the large flower and one of the small.
I then added some background stamping to the main piece by using the number stamp from  the Family Values plate and then stamped one of the flourishes from the Swirls and Splats plate these would be under the flower so it didnt matter that they hadn't lined up completely
I added the flower onto the top of the flourish and popped a button from my stash on the top and then stamped Happy Birthday from the Grungy Greetings plate onto another piece of the mop up sheet.

Added this piece to a white card and voila!!

Thanks for popping over and i am looking forward to seeing all of your entries this year!
Happy creating

Hearts Canvas by Gemma

 Hi Everyone

February is over and it is my last chance to use as many hearts as I possibly can for another year. So this time I painted a 12x12 inches square canvas.

After covering the canvas with gesso, I painted the whole canvas with two different shades of green fresco finish paint. I used Teresa Green and Granny Smith. I then stamped over top with the darker shade of green (Granny Smith) using  Calligraphy mat 11. When I was stamping I made sure to cover the whole canvas but stamped two or three time before applying more paint to the stamp as I wanted some areas to be more faded than others.

I used both Haystack and Chalk fresco finish paints and the dots from the swirls, splats and dots plate, to add the circles to the canvas. I love how imperfect they are, areas where you can see the paint has splodges or areas that were missed.

The hearts are wooden and just something I had floating about in the crafty stash. I covered them with gesso and then with the Haystack fresco finish paint. I really should have added a second layer of gesso because as time has gone on I have noticed areas where the wood is still visible. Then I stamped on the top of them using Tango fresco finish and the dots background stamp.
.

After edging the hearts with the same Tango paint I glued them in place using Cosmic shimmer acrylic glue. Then with a black stabilo pencil I added a boarder, some stems and some grass, so the hearts are a little like flowers. To finish I added the word love from the words mask.

Thank you for reading, taking part in the challenges and commenting. Me and my Team mates really appreciate it.

Brayered background card by Debs

Hi All, well this challenge has certainly inspired lots of you and as there is still over a week to go I thought i would do a card for you to see how many more we can inspire!

The background was made with Fresco Finish Paints, (I used Toffee, Irish Cream, Dusty Teal, Guacamole and snowflake) a piece of paper, a brayer and some stamps.

To make the background just lightly brayer four colours over a sheet of paper randomly.  Once dry go over the whole sheet with Fresco Finish Snowflake on a brayer and allow to dry.  Then stamp in the same colours of paint to create a patterned background I used the new Fabric #2 background stamps and Calligraphic Mat 11.

I stamped Neil Walkers Franswar onto white card using Archival Jet Black and coloured him in using water brushes with the same colour Fresco finish (put a little paint in the reservoir of the water brush with the water)  The words are from Journaling Mini Words

We are enjoying all of your  entries and I am looking forward to seeing more.  Don't forget to leave your comments we do read them and they are very much appreciated.
Thanks for joining in the fun and don't forget to enter!

Small Art

Hi everyone I hope you are all having an amazing summer.
I have a piece for you today that uses the Neil Walker
Birdz stamp, Fantasy 2 background & the new
decay journaling stamps.
A few stencils
Firstly I used distress paints and a brayer to create the background
card that would be the base of the
bird and the matt card.
Next I inked or I should say painted up the Fantasy stamp
with fresco finish paint and stamped randomly over
the background.
Next i used versa fine ink and gold embossing powder and stamped
randomly with both the fantasy and decay stamp. I stamped the
bird onto the painted background and embossed with clear,
also the swirl from the decay stamp was embossed with gold.
I used some mop up card that was on my desk I think it was distress stains
that I had used. I used a dot stencil with grunge paste
put through on the dots I put embossing powder
on and heat set. Next I ripped two strips off and
attached it on to a rectangle of grey board.
The base board had grunge paste through a stencil applied and dried.
next this was painted with
Fresco finish paints.
To finish it off I used some brass pieces from my stash and
mounted it all up.
I hope you enjoyed my post.
Please feel free to let me know what you think.

Art Board by Dee

Hi everyone hope you are all well I have a board for you today
using a mix of Paperartsy Fesco finish paint and
lots of lovely Artistic Stamper Stamps.
Firstly I used Vanila and stone Fresco Finish paint to coat the board.
I used Brown Shed mixed with Blood Orange, Smoked Paprika,
Mocha Mouse, and Bora Bora.
Black texture paste colour grunge paste with paint.
Put it through the Artistic stamper mask.
When wet drop in the small watch parts.
Stamp all the other stamps in black and coffee Archival ink.
pour gold embossing powder down the dry board so it just catches the ink
in places.
Stamp the houses onto similar coloured card and emboss. Well that's it for today
a very simple project but with great results. I tend to use my fingers when
painting as I find that I can get the paint where I want it and its easier
to blend. As always please feel free to ask any questions and let
me know what you think.
Cheers Dee x
